“there was a time we knew so little - yet enough of one another - to dually conspire a living as travel companions. meeting when schedules happened to merge. a month or two - the presidential poet in paris…with his mad muse.”
what would have come, she wonders, had they not waded so deeply into the others dark circumference; every inch eager to peruse?

dreams & future exist beyond reality, beyond the constricting vines of duty and what is and what must be. like those days in the summer house. a man and a woman. just. “i was never much of a poet,” he jokes, with that easy charm that he could use for even the greatest of tragedies.  “but you are, or would be, a striking muse to anyone, i am sure.” she was made for running. but he, for possession. that which he wanted... he must have it in his wolfish claws. to hold it in his palm always, to know it was there. his, always.

"We could’ve worked," she said quietly. “I know,” he replied. “We could’ve made it. We could’ve done it, I loved you. I loved you so much.

A.M.// but we didn’t work out and that’s okay. (via tullipsink)

secrets, lies, illusions, truths. “like countries that move with the mist, doors to dens of dead wives, or arsenic in red wine.” and the characteristics of incompatible creatures housed in the same cave.

“you have a taste for poetry today,” he remarks. nostalgia is always bittersweet, isn’t it? thinking of fond memories that are now gone. things that once were. people that they had been. might have been. one looks through memory like an old camera; the picture is always hazy and uncertain. but they must contend with the present. “perhaps we can have some tea in the library, hm?” they had always both liked the library. it was a place of beginnings.
