I'm cracking up at the idea of Fourteen bumping into an old companion in Tesco's or something and them instantly being like 'YOU'RE BACK? WHAT HAPPENED? IS IT THE DALEKS ? IS THE WORLD ENDING AGAIN? DO YOU NEED HELP?' And Fourteen is just stood there like 'i'm just here for milk??'

if i had a nickel for every time the doctor had some weird regeneration where they end up as david tennant with a family, i would have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it has happened twice

I really deeply appreciate the storytelling craft that has gone into ensuring that David Tennant is the Doctor forever, and can appear at any time without requiring weird timeline shenanigans. This is fan service, yes, but I'm certain the #1 fan this is servicing is in fact David Tennant.

"I wonder where the TARDIS goes at random. Maybe it lands on some outcrop by the sea. And there's a tribe and they worship it for 100 years. Then they grow up and try to burn it. Then they get wise. They preserve it. Then they build a city all around it... till the TARDIS is just a tiny little dot, surrounded by skyscrapers and monorails. Time passes and the city falls. It all gets swept away. And there's the TARDIS... still on its outcrop... by the sea. She's the only thing I've got left. "

the first thing i thought of listening to this speech was that its a metaphor for the doctor. they travel to unknown places and find civilisations that worship them. legends have been written about them, theyve become part of history and theyve changed so many people lives. but everything crumbles around them. everything ages and everything dies, theyve seen the rise and fall of cities and worlds and yet they stand in the centre, living on because they have to.

amazing how the creepy and deeply unsettling episodes of doctor who can turn the most innocuous of phrases into harbingers of dread. before we had the classics like, 'are you my mummy?' and 'don't blink' and 'hey, who turned out the lights?' and now we get to add, 'my arm is too long' to that list
