1/7: Soulmate!AU x Namjoon
Concept: Ink marks (similar to tattoos) are on your body, When your soulmate is in the vicinity, it’ll slowly move, as if reaching out. When you two touch, the tattoos will connect.
I really like bullet fics, so this little series will be written in this form :)

- There was always a thin, red marking starting at the crook of your arm
- It never moved compared to those around you. You always kept staring at it, wondering if it at least grew a cm or something
- But it never did. It was just this small, red dash on your arm that looked like a rash. Of course, it wasn’t
- Unlike those around you that had different ways of meeting their soulmate, yours consisted of a red inked marking that were to grow and connect when you meet your soulmate
- You haven’t and it makes you feel kind of...hopeless in a way
- Your friends had the same thing as you and managed to meet their soulmate. You watched the way the red marking crossed along her arm and onto the palm of her hand, trailing across her middle finger, the the tip forming a bow that connected to her soulmates that finished the rest
- It was a pretty sight and actually made you eager to find your soulmate as soon as you can
- It was always an exciting feeling to find the other half that’s missing and seeing the inking grow slowly and ultimately connect with the one you’re destined to be with, was something you hope you would get to experience soon
- Namjoon sort of felt the same, but didn’t want to rush it
- He just shrugs his shoulders at the concept and lets time decide for when he will meet his soulmate
- His friends would bug him, wondering why he can’t be somewhat excited that his literal half is out there in the world probably thinking about him
- Namjoon, once again, just shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t understand the hype about meeting your soulmate
- They were just a regular person - how is one person able to make the other feel something they don’t feel with anyone else?
- “My soulmate will come whenever time tells,” he would often say.
- But to be honest, Namjoon was afraid. He fell for a someone that had a soulmate.
- And when he fell, I mean he fell. Hard. He was madly in love with this person. It hurt him though - he knew he couldn’t be with them.
- Everyone in this world had someone and Namjoon didn’t want to meet his soulmate anytime soon. That’s why he’s so nonchalant about the idea and even hesitant to go outside
- But every so often, he would stare at the inked marking on his right arm, seeing that it has barely moved. He would gaze at it for quite some time, actually wondering about what will he feel if it suddenly just started to move. Will he run out and find his soulmate?
- One day after work, you went to a new cafe that just opened right near your job. It was in a corner, kind of hidden from everything else.
- When you entered, it was a nice modern, wooden aesthetic and had lots of succulents and plants. It felt like walking into a Studio Ghibli movie.
- You ordered a vanilla latte and situated yourself in an open seat, taking out your laptop. As you sat down, waiting for your latte, a stranger who sat at the table beside you quickly got up, scaring you a bit as his empty coffee cup nearly fell onto the floor.
- “Oh god, I’m going to be late,” he muttered as he ran out of the cafe.
- You watched him go and then stared back at where he sat, seeing he left a small notebook. You grabbed it and flipped through the pages, seeing song lyrics and ideas for music.
- You bit your lower lip, wondering if you should chase after him and hand him the notebook. It seemed pretty important due to how worn out it was and the many pages were filled with quick, messy writing and scribbles.
- You quickly stood up and left the cafe, wondering where you should go. Where should you turn. You decided to go back towards the main roads of the city. You basically ran wherever, hoping you’d find this stranger.
- You then nearly rammed into someone and fell back until his arm reached out and grabbed yours to prevent you from falling
- You looked up at him to see his hair messily flying everywhere. Was he running back to the cafe to get his small notebook?
- “Um, your notebook! You, uh, left it,” you said, handing it to him.
- Namjoon took it from your hand and sighed in relief.
- “I was nearly going to have a heart attack when I realized it wasn’t in my bag. Thanks,” he said, giving you a smile as you saw a dimple form. It was cute and you blushed a bit.
- “N-No problem. The book seems important,” you said.
- Namjoon flipped through the notebook and nodded. Before he even spoke, he saw the red inking on his right arm completed.
- “Oh! You met your soulmate?” you asked, seeing the finished ink on his arm. He chuckled. Maybe you were so caught up trying to find him, you didn’t realize yours was completed as well
- “Yeah. Recently! I didn’t expect us to meet the way we did, but I’m glad. And the more I look at her, the more I realize that she’s kind of...cute.”
- The blush in your cheeks became redder. Did you hear him right?
- “Huh? What?” you asked.
- Namjoon took your hand and showed you the finished red ink. It flowed down your arm, across the palm of your hand, trailed to your middle finger, and you watched how it connected to Namjoon’s.
- “O-Oh!” you said, laughing at how you didn’t notice it earlier.
- “I’m Namjoon, by the way.”
- “y/n! Nice to meet you,” you smiled widely.
- And as you gave a bright smile at Namjoon, he finally understood why people were so excited to meet their soulmate. You were literally beaming in front of him, nearly out of breath with pink cheeks, and somewhat messy hair as well. But he found it cute and he thanked the world for letting him meet someone like you.
- “So...if you’re not busy...would you like to hear what’s in this book?” he asked, pulling out the small notebook from his bag.
- You nodded. “I’d love to.”
