Ben Solo Redeemed

I’ve been thinking it’s so obvious to me.

The fact that Ben Solo didn’t turn dark on his own accord, but because he was betrayed by his Uncle Luke, and therefore lashed out and had to defend himself, is the ONLY reason why there is hope for his redemption.

He didn’t CHOOSE to be dark. He FOUGHT it for so long until he was pushed to the very edge, until he lost all hope and was betrayed by his own Uncle.

And even when he turns dark, there is light in him. He LITERALLY talks to “Vader” in TFA (as soon as he is made aware of Rey’s existence btw) and tells him that the light is drawing him again.

Ben Solo is NOT dark at heart. In fact, he HATES being dark. He HATES the torture and conflict he feels inside of him and HATES the fact that he’s Snoke’s little bitch (and even then probably feels like the side bitch because Hux is always doing exactly what Snoke says, while Kylo does things his own way, so Hux is like the main bitch).

ANYWAYS, the information we learn from Kylo and Luke about what happened to Ben Solo is SO IMPORTANT because it shows us that Ben Solo was just an innocent and confused teenager who was betrayed by his Uncle, who caused him to go off the deep end. Yes, Ben obviously had a ton of power but he had to have been fighting Snoke’s beckoning for a LONG time. He didn’t want to turn dark. He didn’t want to be anyone but himself. But as soon as Snoke betrayed him, Kylo went to the only person who had been there for him the whole time AND the only person he knew would take him in and LOOK AFTER him: Snoke.

Ben Solo turned dark because he felt like he was ALONE. His parents had left him to train with his uncle. An uncle who turned on him. And what would anyone do in that situation? They would turn to their last resort, the last option they have left of feeling some sort of connection. This is why he turned dark, and turned himself in to Snoke. He went to the one person he had left.

I think that he needs to find the light in himself, he needs to figure out who he truly is now that Snoke is dead. But, I also think the light he is looking for is in Rey, and that’s why he needs her so much.

IM SO FUCKING SAD FOR BEN SOLO. PLS LOVE HIM REY HE JUST WANTS TO FEEL THE LIGHT AGAIN. HE JUST WANTS TO NOT BE ALONE ANYMORE. PLS DIRECTORS. REDEEM THIS CHILD OF LIGHT WHO ONLY TURNED DARK BECAUSE HE WAS SO TERRIBLY ALONE. HE DESERVES THIS. HE DESERVES TO BE HAPPY AGAIN.
