A to E

I just discovered a new ship I’m really into. Hailey/Rodrigo from Mozart in the Jungle. I binge watched the entire series (2 seasons up on Amazon Prime right now) all day yesterday and GOSH SO GOOD. Aside from the ship it’s a really good show but I haven’t had a new ship touch me like this in a while. I’m not sure how long it’ll last since the fandom seems small right now but the second season was just released a few days ago so maybe it’ll start poppin’. 

But my good old faithfuls that I can’t imagine ever not being into are Jackie/Hyde, Sheldon/Penny, Sansa/Sandor, and Catelyn/Ned.

Oh, this is easy. It’s actually Sheldon/Penny from Big Bang Theory. When I first watched the show, I really loved their dynamic but didn’t really consider a possibility of them being together romantically. However, I knew I was dissatisfied with the Sheldon/Amy development (I think at this point it was just up to Season 4 or 5?). But I had this urge to read fanfiction and saw how popular Shenny was and tried a few fanfics out. So the fandom actually convinced me of their romantic connection and how good they could be together in that sense. Then I read some metas, started thinking about it on my own and saw the series in a totally different light and I never turned back. 

I’m like the queen of NoTPs. I ship so monogamously, and basically dislike any other possibilities once I’m convinced that my ship belongs together. But there are definitely ships that are just abhorrent and I am just as invested in disliking those ships as I am in shipping my OTPs (I’m generally not an asshole about it cause people gonna ship what they are gonna ship but am vocal about why I think those characters are bad for each other): Donna/Hyde, Jackie/Fez, Jackie/Kelso, Jacob/Bella, Clary/Simon, Katniss/Gale, Penny/Leonard, Sheldon/Amy, and there are like a billion ASOIAF ships cause there is some icky pairings that happen in that fandom. 

None, really. I have to say that if I don’t like a ship - it’s for a good reason so I don’t envy. And if I’m just not into a fandom for a ship that seems totally cool, I’m also not really that envious cause I’m probably not getting into the material for a reason and don’t really feel like I’m missing out. 

SO MANY THINGS. Especially my old school fandom days with the besties I made in That 70s Show fandom. To name a short list:

-Crack fics with my friend @elphabanewlin where we wrote T7S crossover fics with Metalocalypse and Friday the 13th. -Trolling Danny Masterson on his LA radio show - the best example was when my friend luvcali76 made a youtube video that was a plea to him to shave off his ugly pornstache which I had a major hand in helping her create. He ended up seeing it and loved it. -Nipplegate-SlutVolcano (made by another friend Debbie but me and a few others gave her ideas about who to throw into the volcano)-Crackfic that luvcali76 and I co created that we wrote pre Breaking Dawn book release about the hypothetical honeymoon sex scene with Edward and Bella taking Edward’s obsession with safety to a hyperbole. It ended up being a fic with an accompanying picture that ended with Bella floating in a zero gravity moon bounce room in a sumo wrestling costume. -So many things on our livejournal community obstinate_twilighter. Like, crack was our everyday. Our profile page had a new joke practically ever week including a playlist of songs that represented inside jokes like TLC’s “Whatta Man” and Toto’s “Africa”.
