Anya: Or you could get a hobby that doesn't sometimes end in babies. The Power Squad is always looking for members.
Miles: A male power squad member?
Anya: Sure, you wouldn't be the first.

Miles: yeah because Hunter would text someone about doing whoever he wants.
Anya: I didn't think so, but who am I to judge? Anyway, glad you're seeing the silver lining of singledom.

Miles: Hollingsworth.
Anya: I have Frankie's number, so it's not that one, so is this big Hollingsworth or little Hollingsworth?

Miles: Nothing better than being single am I right?
Miles: I can do who I want when I want.
Anya: Um, I suppose? Who is this, exactly?

catching anya’s smile, cam returned one of his own with a nod. if my family ever comes to toronto for a visit, i’ll be sure to introduce you two, he said, chuckling, though the idea of his family coming to visit wasn’t all that cheerful, considering they probably never would. shaking off the idea though, he shook his head at his friend. i might be smaller than your average hockey player, but i won’t hesitate to fight back, he said with a smirk, giving her a friendly push of the shoulder.

“i would love that, maybe they can come down for boxing day?” she suggested brightly, far too enthralled in the idea. she noticed a hint of sorrow on cam’s face at the mention of his family, chalking it up to homesickness over anything deeper. smiling back against the playful nudge, anya shook her head. “the small ones are the ones to watch out for though, they’re much sneakier,” she noted pointedly. “but that doesn’t mean you get to make your own pinky rules.”

he was no stranger to having secrets, this much cam could admit. he would be a hypocrite if he were to say that he wasn’t holding some of his own up his sleeve literally. he knew what it was like to have some sort of past that he didn’t wish to share with anyone, so he knew that even if anya were to have done anything like that, he wasn’t going to push. he didn’t want to push her away from being a real friend because of something as stupid as that. i’m pretty sure it’s a lot more than that, but that is completely your decision.

“really? i’d give up cheering if they wanted me to, but do you think they’d let me keep all of my shoes?” staring off for a moment, anya got lost in the consideration of what she’d oddly sparked conversation about. “i dunno,” she dismissed, abruptly pulling herself up atop the counter to sit, swaying to the upbeat song playing in the distance. “what about you, what do you actually want to do with your life?”

well, it’s meat. i’m pretty sure that it does. if not, then i don’t know what to believe anymore.

“if i don’t believe it, it won’t be true then. i’m sticking to that story.”

Quincy needed a break from “home” for a bit. It was getting rather chaotic for her being there. Life was always troublesome on the weekends, she didn’t have to comfort of school to guide her through. The time where she could enjoy not being there for a little, and delay when she was coming home. But the weekend was a different story. She decided she needed a breath of fresh air, she grabbed her coat and went outside, trying not to let all her emotions get the best of her. She began walking around her neighborhood trying to forget everything.

It wasn’t something she particularly wanted to do, but the flyers in Anya’s hand had to leave them one way or another, and somehow she figured that it’d be too suspicious finding them all nearly tucked into the nearest trash. Power Squad had been hard enough lately; the one thing Anya had left for herself and the one thing that was beating her down all the same. Even so, as Captain, it was her duty to recruit new members. Papers in hand, she readied herself to leave practice, determined to head straight home and forget the whole thing. Coming across another student on the way -though she couldn’t place her name), she didn’t think the girl would be remotely interested in what she had to offer, a safe bet not to have another member to compete with. “Hey!” She chimed, stepping into her path. “You look gloomy, think about some cheer!”

Mia nodded eagerly, “This is perfect!..I mean if it’s benefitting the school why wouldn’t they? We’re giving back.. sort of.” she chuckled. “I like the sound of that.. maybe we could get them to be our Chris Harrisons and hand us the roses then at the end we get them.” she bit her lip. “Oh damn, well maybe we can just make a nice promo poster and flyer and hopefully he’ll see past it.”

“We could pitch it as a grade twelve project to raise money for Prom, totally reasonable. We’re being self sufficient,” she nodded decisively. “Can you imagine Principal Simpson narrating the rose ceremony? I’d be dying the whole time, this is seriously sounding better and better. We’ll just put ‘no sleeping with the bachelors’ on the flyers and go with the flow,” she tittered. “I think we’ve got something great on our hands!”

“Interesting is good. When people don’t step out of the comfort zone then it becomes boring.”

“I’m not sure how comforting it in to be stomped on by me when I’m not looking where I’m walking, but I like your spirit! What was your name, again?”

“It’s hardly a secret, you can ask anyone here and they’ll probably vouch for my two left feet,” she announced, her arm outstretched to the students in the hall. “At least I keep thinks interesting,” she shrugged, willing to poke fun at herself.

“Texting while walking is pretty dangerous too, I guess,” she giggled, closing the book she’d used to blockade her activity. Calming down at the instant forgiveness she received, Anya smiled back. “I’m Anya, by the way, and I’d love to tell you that I don’t go around running into people, but it’ll probably happen again at some point!”
