After Spock’s mom, Hermonia, showed no interest in her newborn pup, zookeepers jumped in to raise him by hand. It took the keepers a little while to successfully get Spock to nurse because he wouldn’t drink from a bottle or an eyedropper. This tiny red bowl, however, turned out to be just right. By the time Spock reached 6 weeks old, he’d already tripled his weight.

Fun fact: In Spanish, -illo is a diminutive suffix (ending that makes a word a smaller or cuter version of the original).
Armado = armored. As in English, adjectives can be used as nouns, so armado can also mean “armored one.” Armadillo = little armored one.
So imagine, if you will, a couple of Conquistadors standing around, unable or unwilling to ask a Native person what things are really called, and this animal walks by.

There are literally homeless people who live in and around his church that his officials and members walk past/step over to get into the church. At times the church has had them cleared from the property.
These kind of evangelicals have perverted Christianity so much. They literally preach prosperity theology. That you know that you are blessed by God and that he loves you because you are rich. The rich deserve it and you don’t because God doesn’t love you. The charity they are looking for is yours to them.
With that kind of money he can open the doors, if it gets messy, renovate after all is said and done..

I didn’t get my license until I was 26 because of my mental health struggles. Just sayin’.
Took me until 24 to beat back my anxiety enough to be able to drive, and I still sometimes have almost panic attacks on the road.
30 and still haven’t learned because of anxiety. You’re doing just fine.
my cousin died in a car accident on christmas day when i was 16. It traumatized me. I’m 23 and my anxiety behind the wheel just became manageable enough for me to get my learner’s permit a month ago. We all got our own pace. You’re doing great!
I’m disabled and there’s no way in fucking HELL I’m learning how to drive, I don’t want to, it gives me nightmares just to think about it. So to all those who drive in spite of anxiety, a disability or mental illness, I admire you.

Poodles were bred as water retrievers, and the poofy haircuts they’re sometimes given were originally designed for practical purposes. They’re shaved so the wet hair wouldn’t weigh them down, except in areas that need the insulation if they’re swimming in cold water: poofs around the joints to prevent them from stiffening up, hair around the chest to keep the vital organs warm (and sometimes also a small saddle of hair over the kidneys, too), hair around the head because the head is where most animals lose a lot of their body heat. I’ve read the the pom on their tails was to make them easier to spot if they dived, but I’m not certain if that’s true.
Pitbulls were originally nanny dogs, and were left alone with children because they would demolish anyone that tried to hurt their precious squishy human friends.
Also spiked collars were originally designed to hurt wolves that attacked sheepdogs.
The Miniature Pinscher is actually an older breed than the Doberman Pinscher, contrary to popular belief. A tax collector (I believe) by the name of Doberman wanted a dog that resembled the little rat-catchers’ small but intimidating look to scare away potential robbers who might target him knowing he was often carrying large sums of money. However, he also wanted a dog that could live quietly and happily with his wife and children, so while they were meant to look fierce, his Dobermans were actually bred to have a very loyal and friendly, but still protective nature.

No, really, you have no idea how differently doctors react when there is a man in the room. Some female doctors will give ETD the side-eye and try to find ways to ask if I am okay (which, bless them) but once they are made aware that he is there at my request for emotional support, they are perfectly happy to have him there, and don’t talk to him unless I need them to.
Male doctors? Whole other ball game. They spot him sitting there and their whole demeanor shifts, and if they do talk over me to him, he quickly sets them right and doesn’t engage in their misogynistic comments, he just stares them down and steps in if he thinks I am being gaslighted, words and phrases like “is this the usual treatment for symptoms like this?” forces the doctor to explain usually what they’d do for him, at which point I am able to ask “so why am I not being sent for XYZ testing/why am I not being prescribed pain treatment?”
But also remember, you are there to be my ally, not to tell the doctor what you think is wrong with me, but to make them pay attention to me. Direct the conversation back to me, and if it’s not working, repeat exactly what I am saying and make them listen.
It’s entirely fucked up, but your mere presence could mean the difference between misdiagnosis and proper medical treatment.
