I recently had an epiphany about two of my faves: Janis Joplin and Linda Ronstadt are two of the greatest singers to have ever lived, and yet they only wrote a handful of their own songs (which were usually also credited to a co-writer or a couple of co-writers). And nobody ever talks about that - the fact that they did write songs. Nobody ever talks about that.
Well, as far as I’m concerned, Janis wrote more songs than Linda.
