TOLKIEN WEEK | Day 9 ↳ Favorite minor character: Bofur
Endearing and likable, Bofur has a disastrous tendency to state the obvious and blurt out things without thinking. With a love of music and a fine singing voice, Bofur delights in good food and good company and is unfailingly optimistic. Though not especially brave, he will do his best to help those in need, especially those he counts as friends.

now i do know that canonically bilbo never made it all the way back to erebor - he was unable to go past dale when he finally travelled with dwarves again.
however think about bilbo, in his hundreds just recently parted from a ring which has corrupted his mind for the last 60ish years. think about him standing at thorin's grave, and very quietly saying "i understand now."

people who say return of the king has too many endings are weak. personally, i think there should be at least ten more endings, with the very last one being legolas and gimli met on the shores of the undying lands by a party of elves, one of which takes one look at the dwarf and screams WHAT THE F— [hard cut to black]
