A beautiful bounty in an annoying bone container

I plucked these views from the Slurry of Moral Relativism and I'm quite fond of them

I’m Alexi, she/they; beyond that, I don’t like centralizing my character sheet

I’m making a webnovel, Mission Critical, about 24th-century space exploration and Lunar sociology and the weird mixed feelings of being from what-was-once-North-Korea and sending out messages that can never be responded to and corporate mascots uplifted to sapience and interplanetary wire fraud and amazing human progress with plenty of petty dysfunction around the edges

(Beyond that, my Ao3 account also hosts a bunch of shorter stories in various stages of completion)

I have a semi-outdated art portfolio on Carbonmade, although I’m not open for commissions right now

From 2016 to 2019 I made a webcomic, Parhelion; it ended prematurely, since it no longer worked with my life’s schedule, but it has a lot that I’m proud of and is a neat fossil record of my artistic growth

From 2019 to 2020 I made a worldbuilding blog, The Solar Symposium, which I hope to return to someday, or at least expand its ideas into bigger stories

(Mission Critical is a distinct setting from the other two, which blur into each other a fair degree, but there are plenty of common themes and a fair number of Easter egg references among everything I make)

I also have a few things up on itch.io, and I’m on Mastodon here, here, and here.

goofy multiverse idea: exactly half the versions of someone are trans, exactly half report no gender yearnings at all

"huh, I guess God really does just flip a coin"

me, a reasonably depressed edo period pilgrim: just do it. fuck me up

“I hope you’re all ready for mouth-watering sweet potatoes!”

“I thought we were going to be killed?”

“Oh no, I said marugoroshi! That’s what I call steamed yams!”

“You call steamed yams marugoroshi?”

“Yes! It’s a, uh, regional dialect.”

“Uh huh. What region?”

“Uhhhhh Sanuki-no-kuni.”

“Really. Well, I’m from Takamatsu and I’ve never heard of anyone call these marugoroshi.”

“Oh, not in Takamatsu, no, it’s a Marugame expression.”

“I see.”

Thinking again about the time my aliens class was discussing conspiracy theories and the professor asked us to call some out and I, thinking simultaneously of both flat earthers and the "moon landing was faked" people, confidently shouted out "FLAT MOON!" and sent the class into hysterics

if every ancient philosopher (renaissance and earlier) was plopped into a modern day bar and tasked with getting laid who would accomplish it the fastest

Pico Della Mirandola, no question. While on the way to the Vatican to defend his esoteric thesis, he fucked the wife of a Medici, got thrown in prison, and then got bailed out by a different Medici. Man had that dog in him.

Also he looked like this.

I would ask people not to babygirlify Christian Esotericist Pico Della Mirandola but lets be honest here I would make her bark

Who said that

The story has been fact-checked by real Florentine patriots (my boyfriend) and is true, but he says that painting is just a Botticelli portrait of some random guy

I finally (got help) slapping Wordpress into shape and Runaway to the Stars is now releasing as a public webcomic! Thank you so much for your support over the years, and sticking with me while I'm slowly chewing my way through this book. I'm very excited to share this story! It'll be updating every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday thanks to the massive Patreon backlog. Patreon will continue to update as I finish pages, which happens on a sporadic non-schedule.

If you experience bugs with the site report them to me. Some things may occasionally break, as coding problems tend to be a very "whack-a-mole" affair; and I'm still getting used to the interface.

btw RttS is still contracted to a book publisher, I just got permission from them to share the comic online. This is beneficial for two reasons: it's functionally advertising for a printed book when the comic is complete, and also I am quite shallow and primarily motivated by attention so sharing pages makes pages happen faster 👍

I'm looking forward to your video game a lot! are there any existing games you're taking inspiration from? or any games you recommend in general?

ideally it would be like if the Disco Elysium guys got hired to make an RPG based on some beloved children's cartoon media franchise but then halfway thru development their studio is suddenly bought out & half the writing staff replaced by the guys who made Trailer Park Boys

It would be neat if chemotherapy was an effective treatment for lead poisoning, just for the symmetry of "they're both really dangerous but cancel out in both directions"

people on the left love to point out instances of hypocrisy because its easy and you never actually have to make an argument, but you always leave the door open. i don't know how this keeps happening, like everyone says "hmm isn't it strange that chuds say racial diversity in a fantasy setting is 'unrealistic' but they're fine with dragons and magic" without fucking thinking for even a second. like, that implies that realistic grounded historical fiction is fair game to be all white, right? like you never actually said whether diversity is good or not, you just offered a contradiction that can super fucking easily be remedied and cruised over.

i know im autistic and im focusing too much on the informational value of the words u are saying, i know its another instance of birdsong where ur just signalling an ingroup and wielding power over the outgroup, but please think. take things literally for once in ur life
