Here is another cool music video from season two, featuring Katie Herzig and her beautiful “Telegraph Song”!
I am so proud of this music video we made for the incredible Katie Herzig! I storyboarded and colorscripted the video, Chris and Eastwood and Sylvia painted the backgrounds, Keiko designed the characters, Mike cleaned them up, and Phillip colored them! Stephane also personally composited the entire piece and DHX did the character animation.
This was really difficult to do from a technical standpoint - it was really hard to get the timing right so that the backgrounds and characters would move in sync with the song. The entire pan is about 64 fields long and had to be split into six seamless paintings in order for the file size to be manageable. Once we started animation, we realized it was incredibly difficult to do the pan without a strobing effect because of the way our computer screens refresh. Stef did lots of awesome problem solving to minimize the effect. So happy with how it turned out!

I had a lot of fun getting to work a bit on this music video for sure my favorite song so far. I did the character posing in the shots leading up to when the pan starts, which @jjacsso did a fantastic job animating!
