christmas movies to make into rps. --- specifically , family ( + found family / big friend group ) centered christmas movies , to liven spirits. note i’d change the plots around a bit some of these movies center around primarily casts of color so if you don’t change it around a bit i’d recommend sticking with the original casting call requirements.
love, the coopers. --- for their annual christmas eve celebration, person a and their spouse person b welcome four generations of extended family, including person c (their child), person d (their child) and person a’s parent, person e. person a and person c are separating after 40 years of marriage, while person c is in the middle of a divorce. as the guests reveal their respective problems, they also rediscover the importance of kinship and the spirit of the holiday.
nothing like the holidays. --- it's the christmas season, and the scattered members of the family converge on their parents' chicago home to celebrate. but, no family gathering is without its strife. sibling person a still pines for an old flame, sibling person b now has a high-powered s/o who is more interested in career than children, and matriarch person c drops a bombshell when they announce their intention to divorce their children's parent person d.
the family stone. --- person a wants to bring their partner, person b, to meet their bohemian connecticut family at christmas. straitlaced person b, feeling they needs backup, asks their sibling person c to come along. hoping to win the approval of her boyfriend's parents (person d and person e) and the rest of the family, instead person b succeeds only in highlighting their uptight personality and making person a doubt his intentions.
almost christmas. --- person a is a retired mechanic who lost the love of his life one year earlier. now that the holiday season is here, he invites daughters person c and person b, and sons person e and person f, to his house for a traditional celebration. poor person a soon realizes that if his bickering children and the rest of the family can spend five days together under the same roof, it will truly be a christmas miracle.
the best man holiday. --- nearly 15 years after they were last together as a group, college friends person a, b, c, d, e, f, g, and h finally reunite over the christmas holidays. though much has changed in their lives, the friends discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and passionate romances to be reignited.
christmas with the kranks. --- finally alone for the holidays, person a and person b plan to eschew the christmas traditions and take a cruise in the caribbean instead. this doesn't sit well with their christmas-obsessed neighbors person c and person d, who are determined to win the annual "best decorated street" competition, and person a & b soon find themselves social outcasts because of their lack of christmas spirit.
this christmas. --- at holiday time, family matriarch person a assembles her large brood for their first reunion in four years. however, family ties show signs of strain when various secrets come to light, especially concerning person b’s true military status, person c’s debts and teenage person d’s secret plans to become a singer.
surviving christmas. --- a wealthy executive, person a has no close relationships and becomes nostalgic for his childhood home as christmas approaches. when he visits the house and finds another family living there, he offers the residents, person b and his partner, person c, a large sum of money to pretend they are his parents. soon person a tests the couple's patience, and, when their daughter, person d, arrives, things get increasingly tense.
