2018 marks the beginning of our love letter to all blondes everywhere. This project is a visual representation of the full spectrum of blonde shades on a diverse range of people from all backgrounds and hair types.

This is about capturing the essence of being blonde.

Technology has evolved the lightening process and made this iconic color easier for all to experience.

Not only do we hope to document the culture of being blonde, we want to create a definitive guide to the chemistry behind decolorization in a beautiful and digestible way. With each post we will lift the veil and demystify the process and why each hair type responds differently to bleach.

We have chosen to work with Davines as our dynamic color partner. Applying scientific rigor to each product with a dedication to sustainable beauty and taking a responsible approach to our industry aligns with our values.

Use the ask us anything feature to find out more about this project!

Hi, I have a friend who got a perm and cut about a month ago but it didn't turn out very well. His natural hair is thick and wavy but it's now very tightly curled. He wants to get his hair re-cut and straightened out to how it looks naturally. Do you offer "anti-perm" services? If so, how much would straightening and cutting be? Thanks in advance!

Hello!

Unfortunately the word Perm literally is an abbreviation of the work Permanent. The best answer to a bad perm is to wash it within the first 48 hours, to reverse some of the process (as highlighted in the integral plot point in the movie Legally Blonde).

Straightening and perming systems are both incredibly alkaline (almost at the top of the hair’s limits), meaning if you were to do one of those processes after the other, the hair would most likely break. The best solution is to mechanically blow dry and flat iron, or to cut it all off and start fresh.  🌊

hey, i have short black hair right now and i wanna color my hair silver or lilac silver . will the single process be better or the double process? and why ? thank you

Hi 👋

It all depends on whether your hair is naturally black or coloured. In both cases it may take multiple process appointments, but if you are coloured black, you could potentially never reach your desired shade based on the health of your hair, and the amount of times you have coloured it dark.  Either way we would consider this process a colour correction, and would not be able to quote you without an irl consultation, which is always complimentary. We book all fashion colours, and corrections this way.  It is generally a 4 hour appointment or longer, and involves skill, many steps and lots of product.

To clarify, at Palm Sunday, a single process involves pigmenting your hair on level, or darker than your current colour.

A double process is more like colouring your hair and adding some hilights in between for dimension.
