hey friendos — i know i’ve been the actual Worst at writing on this blog, so imma do what i shoulda done a thousand years ago and make [ THIS ] multimuse. it’s still super in the works and under construction, but i’m doing a major overhaul on the blogs that i miss and it’s where you’ll find me! :)

He doesn’t understand. HE NEVER UNDERSTANDS. A fact that is QUICKLY bypassing his limit of control. He thought him and Pearl — thought they were… well, somethin’. Something Important to each other. They SHARED too much t’ not. Didn’t they? ❝ --------- oh. Aye. ❞

FISTS ARE CLENCHED – white-knuckled – at his sides. His teeth are BARED ( so much so, his jaw starts to ache ). And OH what Jack would only give to bite the man’s nose! If he could be certain he’d not get shot in the process… and there’s the rub. This mortality was leaving a BAD TASTE in the monkey’s mouth. His head tilts as though he’s sizing the other man up ( he is ). ❝ Count yerself LUCKY, c - commodore. ❞

i’ve finally pinpointed what human!jack’s voice sounds like. uncertain as he is with voicing himself beyond muttering, his voice is gruff and very similar to that of TOM HOPPER/BILLY BONES, though he is decidedly LESS eloquent.
He had hidden the first time his CAPTAIN had awaken. In short - he was TERRIFIED ( though truth be told it was his newfound HUMANITY that surely frightened him the most ).The sea witch had bestowed upon him a GIFT he hadn’t wanted --- any pleas to have her turn him BACK had been met with nothing less than SCORN. Was he not PLEASED? ( no ). Was he not GRATEFUL ( even less so ). His joints ached almost as much as his head pounded from the flood of EMOTIONS HE DIDN’T UNDERSTAND but still he crouched, hunched as he had as a monkey upon his captain’s shoulder. He’d meant to hide until he was certain of his footing, of his voice, but one small MISSTEP and here they were. WORDS ELUDED HIM aside from the two that had been propelled forth from the fear for his seemingly mortal self. ( Almost as though somewhere deep down, he knew the price for his unwarranted humanity had been his cursed immortality ).
“ C - CAP’N BAR - BOSS - A. ” He pronounced the name with a quiet reverence, gruff as his voice sounded. FOR NEAR THIRTEEN YEARS Jack had perched ( beloved, content; HAPPY even ) alongside the MAN that now clearly planned to SHOOT HIM as Sparrow could ( and often had ) before he’d been thrust into this new form. Something WET welled up behind his eyes, blurring his vision. Something felt BROKEN in his chest. His CAPTAIN did not know his face. The sea witch was CRUEL indeed. “ --- JACK. I... am... J - Jack. ”
when a pirate’s MAROONED, he’s given a pistol with a single shot. ONE SHOT. well, that won’t do much good hunting, nor to be rescued. but after three weeks of a STARVIN’ BELLY and THIRST, that pistol starts to look real friendly. but jack, he escaped the island, and he still has that one shot. oh, but he won’t use it though, save for ONE MAN. his mutinous first mate. barbossa.
PSA FOR JACK’S HUMAN VERSE: on occasion when writing, I will still regard Jack as MONKEY —– this is because he himself still considers himself as such. Uncomfortable in his new bones as well as unhappy with the change, it takes quite a while for him to think of himself a man despite his appearance.
The monkey’s face FELL, shoulders slumping —— DEJECTED at the rejection of someone he’d considered a FRIEND. Something unexplainable made his chest ACHE ( he felt TORN – Barbossa was Jack’s FAMILY, didn’t Dodger understand? ). “ But, D - Dodger, I’ve not —– I’ve not done nothin’! An’ s’ no - not… fair, is i’? ”
❝ I despise Bandar-log. Your people are manipulative and find themselves only serving your desires to be human. ❞ It is clear that, despite his respectful disposition, Bagheera has no soft spot for monkeys.
[ head tilts as teeth are BARED in an exaggerated SMILE ( it was FUNNY to him, see ); and Jack hops to a lower branch so the panther can see it’s HIM he’s laughing at. ] Who says we all wan’ t’ be HUMAN? Smelly things th’ lot ----- [ he pauses for a moment, head quickly tilting the opposite way ] ----- CONVENIENT though, y’ have t’ admit, aren’t they?
He laughs, quick && high pitched it FALLS from his lips. ( it’s FUNNY, honest ) -------- “ AYE, I know i' first hand! Was a time I ‘ad been smaller ‘n ye, even, lass. ”
