When you hear a new song on the radio and you’re desperately trying to pick a notable phrase so you can google it later

Gather round, kids. Let me tell you a story from ye olden days because I am tumblr elderly. I used to DJ for a radio station. I played records and CDs and we had station IDs from bands on 8 track cartes. People would call me asking what songs were–but they had to mumble, sing, or play the song on an instrument. I had someone call me to ask what Smells Like Teen Spirit was when it was a single. They played it on an accordion. I forgot about it until a moment ago when I saw this post.

It seems the theme of this mania was the triumphs and consequences of obsession. Seth's obsession with destroying the monster he felt he created ultimately cost him his title. His overwhelming guilt for what he did to his brother's nearly 10 years ago still eats at him and his obsession to right that wrong overshadowed his desire to maintain his championship.

Drew's obsession to prove that he was right about Seth, while in turn, not realizing his own obsession with ruining and humiliating Phil ultimately allowed him to let his guard down and ruin the moment he'd been desperately begging for.

Roman's obsession with getting even with Seth. Restoring the pride that he felt was ripped from him. But ultimately, it was returning a debt of betrayal that haunted him for nearly a decade. The person he love and trusted most stabbed him in the back and he couldn't let it go. Title be damned, he had to take the opportunity. But in the end, it cost him everything.

Becky's obsession to prove everyone wrong. To show that she still belonged at the top and that she was still the best and the obsession of proving that she was better than Rhea, ultimately led to her downfall (outside of kayfabe I know she was sick which probably played a factor)

But in the inverse, Sami and Cody's obsession with proving their worth. Proving they had what it takes and that they could overcome anything. That they were worthy of greatness and that they did deserve to be seen ultimately led to them both ending the greatest title reigns of the modern era.

It's truly fucking magical storytelling and I fucking love professional wrestling.

I just think Lae'zel and Wyll could be great as The Call of Cthulhu rpg's investigators.

Lae'zel is the newbie who needs to prove herself. Wyll always wanted to be a cop, because he wants to be good, he wants to help.

Mizora is the traitor inside, she tells Cazador that he's on the radar for all the crimes that smell like cult-ritual killing.

Astarion is there, in the middle, being used by Cazador, in his cell when Wyll finds him after inspecting Cazador's mansion.

Gale is the One Who Knows Everything about the deity Cazador wants to Summon, and Karlach is his bodyguard.

And Shadowheart is another investigator but for another cult.

They all have to stop Cazador before he summons an awful deity like Nyarlatothep or whatever.

They all lose their sanity? Yes.

But before that we can enjoy the plot, the finding clues and old forbidden books, and of course, the romance between Wyll, the romantic young p i who believes in fairytales, and Astarion, the one who seeks revenge.

Anyway, all this happens in Faerun but it's like our 1920's.

every morning i go out onto the farm and ring a gong at the perfect resonant frequency of one of my pigs, causing it to disassemble into perfectly cooked breakfast meats

every night i sing a song of such incredible beauty that a new pig wanders onto my farm and becomes my best friend
