(heda--leksa):
Lexa shook her head at her words. “The dead are gone. The living are hungry. And those are the ones I have to focus on.” She paused before looking at her. “I have to get over the pain and I will do that by realizing for what it really is, weakness. And I cannot afford having a weakness.” Lexa nodded, she knew Fenix was trying to help her, to make her feel better. But in this moment, she realized that she couldn’t keep going like this. She had to bury her feelings deep down and never let them come up again. That’s how she will get over it. “It is fine Fenix, you do not have to tell me anything. I hope you’ll never go through this kind of pain, I do not wish it on anyone.”
Fenix wanted to disagree, to tell Lexa she thought differently. That love was powerful, stronger than anything else. But how would she back that up? Fenix had never loved anyone other than Aden, Fenix couldn’t pretend to understand or even remotely know what love was like. It was a hunch, deep inside her, that love was strong and it only made them stronger. “Is it such a weakness? Is that what Costia would want you to say?”
