New Things at Fillydelphia Radio
Hi Everypony! Ditzy here with some very important FR announcements! Sorry for the length of this post, but I figured one MAJOR update was better than a bunch of tiny ones. Without further ado, let’s get down to business (to defeat the huns):
1. Changes in management – alright, so for those of you that pay close attention to us, you may already know this, but some of you might not. No, there was not a violent riot, your two favorite owners still own and administrate Fillydelphia Radio. We did, however, decide to divide the powers of the admins between more people, who are called “managers”. Fillydelphia Radio currently has six managers to divide the load and they go as follows:
- WestJ- WestJ is one of our owners, and is also our key player pertaining to anything IT and tech. If there is a streaming issue, a website issue, or a shoutcast issue, you can be sure that West is the guy trying his best to fix it.
- Mulberry Metal- Mulberry, also host of Filly Radio’s hit show, The FillyCast, is our leader in show management. Basically, if there is a show you want on the airwaves, Mulberry is who you apply to. “Shows” include DJ sets, Interviews, comedy skits, news shows, or even podcasts.
- Shane AKA Hostile Contact- Shane, who is a longtime FR frequenter that used to go by PRLuna, is our Staff Manager. He “manages” the staff, which means hiring, firing, and keeping everypony in line to do their jobs to the best of their abilities. He is the one that tries to keep FR a quality experience for our listeners
- Ultima – Ultima is a very good friend of FRs, going as far as to suffer through many fillycasts so that he can create the season recaps for everypony. Ultima is also out Music Manager, assisting in adding new music to Delphia, and keeping all of the DJs up to date in what the hit music on the waves is.
- Dusk – Dusk is our head moderator. You may have known her under her original name of Otakon, but if not, then that’s okay. Dusk’s job is to assist ponies in anything involving our IRC channel. Don’t remember a command? Want to report a fellow chat-goer for harassment? Dusk is the pone you want to go to. She’s also a very good listener!
- Ditzy – That would be me! I’m the leader of Social Media and Advertising…. Basically I’m the PR gal! I admin our facebook, twitter, tumblr, and steam. When you don’t find me doing one of those, then you can usually find me in #fillyradio or #bronytv . Basically if you have a social media concern or a question about adverts or marketing, I’m the gal you’ll talk to first!
2. HELP WANTED– Here at Fillydelphia Radio, we pride ourselves on live music and fan interaction to create a positive environment for listener and artist alike. However, to do that, we need a strong, dependable staff ofvolunteers who are willing to put in the effort to make that a reality. We are now hiring at Fillydelphia Radio for most positions! Have a show idea you /really/ want to broadcast? Have you always wanted to DJ on a radio station? Ever wanted to type up blog posts and press releases? APPLY TODAY TO VOLUNTEER!!! (Disclaimer: applying doesn’t mean you got the job necessarily. You may have to audition or do a “test” before you’re approved)
3. The FR Fanart contest– Another thing we value at FR is our artists. This doesn’t just mean musicians! We love visual arts as well! As a way to show our love, we have decided to enact a Fanart contest/display! We challenge you, the fans, to draw “us”! Whether that be your favorite DJ, staff member, interactive partner, or Delphia herself! We can supply you basic images of our OCs if they’re need, but other than that, just be creative! The “winner”(s) of the fanart section will have their art displayed as the profile picture/cover photo of our social media!
4. Interraction– This is your friendly reminder that we DO have an IRC channel that everypony is invited to! Using the website, it will automatically join to #fillyradio but if you are using another client, then be sure to join the server irc.canternet.org and then join the channel #fillyradio by using the /join command. We look forward to seeing you there!
TL;DR : We’re under a different infrastructure, we want ponies to participate, DRAW OUR MASCOT, and come volunteer with us!
