she isn’t GOOD. if there’s one thing jane knows, it’s that; if she were truly good, she wouldn’t have left david in the first place, they wouldn’t be having this conversation now. in her mind, by leaving home all those years ago, she did the guy an injustice. one that she’s now determined to right.
kellan’s touch is gentle though she can sense the anger below his surface. soft lips press to his knuckles in the hope that it’ll calm him down, even a little. she never should have started this stupid conversation.
“what if you came with me?”
he’d probably beat david to death on sight.
“okay, dumb idea. never mind.”
there’s a problem there. because if kellan knows anything at all, it’s that jane is the best thing that’s happened to him. she’s the reason he’s doing alright raising holly. she’s the reason he hasn’t started a fight for months straight. she’s the reason for anything good having happened to him, at all. bad people can’t do that kind of thing.
and the idea of her being hurt again? the idea of it even being a possibility? it makes him want to THROW UP.

he manages a smile, before reaching his free hand out and pulling her in closer to him by the waist. he plants a kiss on the top of her head, and he’s holding onto her like she’ll disappear forever if he lets go.

i hate fifty shades of grey with every fiber of my being. christian grey is awful. however, jamie dornan is gorgeous and i will always reblog pictures of him in the role of christian grey. but i hate christian grey and i need the entire world to know it. christian grey sucks.

jane sighs, head hanging as she chews on the inside of her cheek. it was a stupid idea of hers, and deep down, she knew that. but some part of her was, for better or for worse, loyal to family.
“i just… people deserve second chances.”
it takes everything in him not to start shouting again. to hold back all the HATRED he harbours for a man he’s never met ---and never intends to. he knows men like david. his father was like him, to an extent. there’s no forgiveness in him for anyone like that.
he takes a step forward, doing the very opposite of everything he feels and reaching out for jane’s hand. besides the kids, she’s the only thing he knows how to be GENTLE with.

the only thing i’m comfortable with is ANGER, so i replace everything with it.

she’s clearly not even bothered by the idea of upsetting him, shoulders lifting in a lazy little shrug.

his life has he hit a woman, and he’s not planning on changing that.
