"May I have this dance?" (hello there stranger)

Clint grinned tugging Phil to his feet and into a lazy two-step, if you could even call it that.

Phil's hands settled to Clint's waist, smiling and moving with Clint, leaning their foreheads together for a moment.

The marksman just smiled and relaxed in Phil's familiar hold. Neither of them really leading the other, just enjoying being close to one another.

"This 's nice," Clint hummed mostly to himself.

"It is. Sorry I was gone, for so long. I missed you." He's quiet, and a little ashamed. Between his deaths and possibly universe hopping he's not even sure how long he was gone.

Clint just holds Phil tighter and presses his face into the crook of his old handler's neck. He never likes it when they're apart, even more now given everything that's happened between and around them. But despite it all they always seem to find their way back to one another.

"Missed you too."

"I'm back. And I'm glad to be back. I'm not quite who I was. But I can't be, and hey. I'm here." He pressed a kiss under one of Clint's ears softly.

The marksman sighed and relaxed into Phil's hold even more, their lazy two-step having turned into just swaying in one anothers arms.

"We should go somewhere," Clint said after a small pause. "Get away for awhile."

"I'm up for that. I don't have anywhere I need to be right now anyway. And I've been mobile for a long time. I'd like to linger somewhere, with you."

Clint hummed at Phil's reply and there's another short pause between them as the archer mulled over a few options.

"There anywhere you'd like to go? We haven't been to London in a while, or we could go somewhere warmer."

"It has been a long time since we went to London and the last time was under sucky circumstance." Phil reflected. "That said, warmer sounds nice. Maybe Spain? I think we're a bit old for something like Ibiza sadly."

The archer can't help but laugh when Phil rules out Ibiza., not that he was surprised or disappointed.

"Spain sounds nice," Clint hummed in reply. "Couldn't tell you when I went last, not for work anyways." It would be nice to go back, to see the country he spent so much time in and out of before SHIELD finally pinned him down.

"What's up?" Justin drifted over, head tipped slightly.

All the CEO got was a smirk before Clint tugged him down for a kiss by the collar of his shirt.

Justin made a soft surprised noise, tipping his head back and blushing. "Well hello to you too."

The archer's smirk became a full blown grin when he saw the blush coloring Justin's cheeks.

"Cute," he teased as he pulled him back down for another kiss.

"What can I say, still not used to a hot guy just deciding I'm worth kissing." Justin smiled a little, leaning into the kiss.

"You saying I'm not kissing you enough?" Clint teased breaking the kiss but still keeping Justin close.

"I mean obviously. There's no such thing. You can always kiss me more." He grinned.

The archer hummed returning Justin's grin. "Oh yeah?" Clint cupped the others face and pulled him back down for a slow and soft kiss. "Like now?"

He shifted, draping his arms over Clint's shoulders, smiling. "I did say always. Yes, like now. Like whenever."

"Whenever?" Clint grinned mischievously as he pulled back a little to look up at the CEO. "Oh that's a dangerous invitation to give me Justin."

"Are you sure you don't want to stay for.. dessert?"

An uncharacteristically devious grin--more befitting of the devil than Matt himself--tugged on his lips as his voice was low and gruff, trailing fingernails down the archer's bare stomach.

Clint snorted at the horrible joke, but still squirmed as Matt's nails raked across his skin.

"Depends, what's on the menu?"

"Look, if you're here to gloat, Barton--" He focused his senses on the archer. "What's actually going on?"

Avatar

"Only insecure people gloat," Clint smirked as he took a sip of his beer. "I was just in the area Murdock 'm not infringing on your stomping grounds so relax." The marksman had made himself comfortable on the roof of the building some time ago, as if the mostly empty six pack was any indication of that. It had been pure chance that a mugging would happen quite literally at Clint's feet. With a well placed throw the glass bottle slammed into back of said mugger's head giving their victim a chance to escape.

"I'd offer you one but," he gestured to the vigilante's attire.

Some people are just born to fight, I think.

It’s not that they’re born brave. It’s not that they’re born strong. It’s just that the universe has decided that this one, this one will have grit and fire and steel in their blood. And it’ll be tested, this cosmic mettle of theirs. They’ll face trial after trial, be broken and damaged in countless ways.

But this one was born to fight. Maybe it’s not the life they would have chosen. Maybe they’d love to lay down their arms. But they were born to fight. It’s what they know. It’s what they do best. It’s all they can do.

Clint Barton 🏹 | character profile Look, the city is flying, we’re fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense. But I’m going back out there ‘cause it’s my job. Doesn’t matter what you did, or what you were…if you step out that door, you are an Avenger.
