Y'know, if we’re gonna sell that we are, actually, boyfriend and girlfriend, then we might have to, uh… y'know… || (Tim and Lucy decide to practice kissing before going undercover.)

Maybe it's just me, but i get the feeling that people that dislike Cutie Pie sometimes tend to criticize it because the story, according to them, was going "nowhere" and we needed something "more". For them it's all about external factors, about having random conflicts thrown at them, they want the traditional way of storytelling which is okay, but it bothers me when they say the show is bad because of that.

Cutie Pie was about internal struggles, a character driven story: we see the two main protagonists develop in terms of how they feel and interact with each other. I heard before people asking for the series to resolve the main issue fast... so they can have another conflict but as a "couple" and that just shows me that they can't comprehend a story that centers around characters development. At the same time, that is not how things work? You can't make Kuea and Lian be authentic right away, human can't just take their mask off and be happy, it's a process and even with that, sometimes the mask doesn't fully comes out, there's fragments of it in your personality. Complaining about Kuea being insecure/fake makes no sense because people don't change from the night to the morning. The same goes for Lian, both of them were restricted by their own insecurities and self-imposed limits. The whole thing, for me, was about finding yourself and accepting every version of you.

Who knows, maybe is really just me, Cutie Pie is not perfect by any means, but i thought the main point was clear. Yeah, the miscommunication was annoying but considering that both of them were still in a state of mind of "unworthiness", that both of them have different ways of expressing their emotions, and that they were creating walls between them because of their fears... it was bound to happen. But well, that's just how i personally see it.

i love when a cat meows at you and you're like "yeah tell me about it" and they're like "meaarow" and you're like "that's crazy man" and they go "rrraow" and you both continue in that manner for quite some time or until the cat decides to bite you
