one knee on the ground, he falls into a more defeated pose. he’s tired of living like this. SCARED for people and yet here he is, defending a grounder no less. (  if o could see me now  ) his fingers drum against a knee as he thinks and as she speaks up he gives her a small smile. she’s tiny and really no match for anyone. if more grounders were like her he could sleep safely. ❛ bellamy. ❜ he says with a little nod, ❛ don’t worry, okay? ❜

He seemed to be okay for the most part, not looking to be plotting anything against her now that he had her in that cave. So his name was Bellamy, well that’s a relief. She’d heard whispers of some brute from Skai Kru named Pike who had a head count of grounders a mile high, but never any of a Bellamy. “That just makes me worry more.” Akasa replied with a weak grin, propping her chin on her palm to peer at him curiously. “So, why are you helping me? I thought you hated grounders?”

the cave is small, enough for only them and as his hand grips the wall he glances at her. a mixture of shock and fear is riddled on her face and a feeling of uneasiness washes over him. they shouldn’t be there and as he looks at his people stomping past them he wonders where his loyalities have been. he’s protecting the grounder and avoiding his people but he doesn’t feel betrayal. he knows that if pike were here it would end differently and a part of him is glad that the newly elected chancellor wasn’t with the group.             hard swallow is followed by careful steps beyond the cave. they’re gone but not far and as his body is crouched down, he looks at her cautiously. they should be enemies. ice nation and skai kru. but there’s something in her face, in her body language, that hurts his heart. ❛ you’re welcome. ❜ he mutters finally, not sure where they stand but he knows that it’s not fighting. honey hues look over to where his people are walking and he moves back towards the cave. ❛ they’re not far, we should stay until they are. ❜

She knew the longer she stayed here, the more danger she was putting him and his people in. She was Ice Nation’s prized healer, their only healer, which meant they would come looking for her in no time. Peering up at him from the corner of her eye, the girl would attempt to quell her trembling form by hugging herself quietly. She didn’t want him to get hurt, not because of her especially when he was risking so much to help her. “My name is Akasa, by the way.” The blonde spoke up finally, giving him a slight smile in greeting as she shuffled to sit down against the cave wall. All that running took a toll on her, leaving her slightly exhausted and eager for a rest.

eyes bore into hers, daring her to contradict him when he hears it. he’s out on his own, doing recon but mostly thinking to himself. his head snaps to the noise and then her. the fear in her eyes in unfounded and there’s a pang in his heart. she reminds him of octavia and that’s why he’s closing the distance between them quickly and shaking his head. ❛ i didn’t. ❜ his voice is low as one hand takes her arm and whispers, ❛ come with me. ❜ it’s a roll of the dice but something about her small frame and fear takes him back and he can’t leave her here. whatever pike’s doing, he wasn’t aware of which meant leaving her here could cost her her life. ❛ the cave, now. ❜

Her breathe hitched in her throat as felt his calloused palm wrap around her smaller forearm, pulling the girl along and for a moment she thought that it was over, that he was taking her back to his base and she was going to die just as swiftly as all those before her. Eyes would close in preparation to face the soldiers before flashing open in realization of what he had said. A cave? He was...helping her. Feet tumbled to keep up with his longer strides, eyes never wavering from where they were focused on the back of his head. She couldn’t understand why he was doing this for her, she did beg him for it somewhat but she expected a swift refusal and for him to call his comrades over so they could pierce her with as many bullets as possible. “T..Thank you..” Akasa spoke up softly, seeing as their pace had began to slow and she figured they were in the safe zone for now.

there’s a hot flash of anger at her accusation. and there’s guilt. at the mention of peace he can only think of finn. what he had done to get them all there and what the grounders had done to his friend. ❛ no. we tried to have peace with your people. all we wanted was peace. but you just pick us off. kill kids in the name of keeping your territory.  ❜ he’s glaring at her, honey pools boring into icy ones. ❛ if we’re monsters, it’s because of you.  ❜

Swallowing thickly beneath his heated gaze, lips would part for a quick rebuttal before faltering at the sound of heavy foot falls. Skai Kru. Looking off to the side in horror, the healer would be quick to look back at the male before her with fire in her eyes. “You called reinforcements?” Akasa tested, venom laced in her tone as she stepped back slightly in caution. She couldn’t run as fast as before, not after what Mount Weather had done to her lithe form. Wide cerulean pools flashed quickly from the forest back to the soldier before her in hidden panic, unsure of what route to take in order to flee. “Call them off. Call them off, please.” She had never been too far outside Ice Nation, so she was never properly trained on what to do in these situations. The Mountain Men had left her irreversibly wounded, she was easy picking and that terrified her.

he can hear his heart pounding in his ears and for a second he feels like drowning. the air is sucked from his lungs at her words as an image flashes across his eyes. lincoln. the man before he was a friend and octavia’s. a GROUNDER that almost killed a friend. and he remembers hurting him for answers. the memory is painful and he takes a step back as if she’d struck him. (  why couldn’t she have hit me?  ) ❛ no  ❜ he chokes out, adam’s apple moving up slightly uncomfortably. ❛ we’ve never tortured your people. i’m     we’re not monsters.  ❜

At his claim her lips would quirk up ever so slightly, as if to prove her point that what she said was true. He seemed to be unnerved at her accusations from what his body language showed, and although a hot flash of guilt ran through her, she refused to succumb to it. “But you might as well be like the Mountain Men. You don’t want peace, you never really did. You refuse to believe that not all grounders are terrible, and kill us off at the first chance you get.” Swallowing thickly to fight back the angry tears that wanted to appear at the thought of her people dying, she would match his gaze again and lower her voice to a deadly tone. “This is not peace.”

muscles tense at her tone and stance. for someone so fearful earlier, she was no longer so scared. honey hues narrow on her as he shifts towards her. forgetting the gun slung on his shoulder, fingers curl in on themselves to form a fist. ❛ you don’t know what you’re talking about  ❜. his voice is level, firm, and practically a snarl. he’s angry at what they’ve all done since they got here. ❛ your people have been killing mine since we got here  ❜.

Teeth bared slightly in rage, the girl would straighten slightly to match his larger frame and seem braver than she actually was in that moment. “You invaded us. Tortured us and killed the sick and weak just for your own personal gain. And to top it off, you even thought of reclaiming that hell Mount Weather as your new base. We both are monsters, Skai Kru, but at least my people accept it.” Akasa growled, voice lowered to a deathly tone as she refused to break the heated stare down they shared.

honey hues watch the other as feet move backwards. there’s a tilt of his head ever so slightly as brows knit together. (  what is she doing?  ) as he watches her back away it clicks. she’s afraid. it’s then that he lowers his gun completely, an act that disobeys his training. training tells him to be alert but instincts tell bellamy different. ❛ i’m protecting my people from yours  ❜. his tone is harsh, almost accusing her of something she hasn’t done. something she probably wasn’t aware of but mount weather is still fresh. gina is still dead.

His accusatory tone left the girl recoiling slightly, only to double back with her own rebuttal. How dare he blame everything on Ice Nation when his own people just slaughtered an army there to help them. “Your people go and slaughter innocent people just because you’re afraid of things you have no power over.” Voice raised as she stepped forward to prove her point further, icy pools would narrow on him in frustration. She didn’t make the rules, but she did know that even though Ice Nation were one of the more ruthless clans, they didn’t kill unless it was needed.

“now would be a REALLY good time to do your banshee thing.” the words come out with a slight lisp as malia has already shifted into her partial form. her back was to the other girl so that they could watch the people circling them.

“You know I totally would, if only it didn’t mean leaving you completely deaf in the long run.” Akasa rushed pointedly, gulping back some air as she dodged a lunge from the enemy before them.

Stiles stopped moving at the sound of others laughing at him. “Some people just can’t those with good moves.” He spoke loudly, before he walked over to the bar. “Clubs are much better when you have friends around.” He mumbled under his breath, as plopped himself down on a stool.

“You seem to be quite the attention magnet.” The silver haired girl commented as she sat down a stool away from the other, peering over at him curiously as she noticed his sour attitude. “Don’t let them get to you, they’re just grumpy drunks with nothing better to do is all.” Sipping on her own alcoholic beverage, Akasa would lean forward slightly to speak to him more clearly. “I’m Akasa.”
