“Bunetta remembers Zayn playing him “Pillowtalk” and a few other songs for the first time through a 3 a.m. fog of cigarette smoke in a hotel room in Japan. “Fucking amazing,” he says. “They were fucking awesome. I know creatively he wasn’t getting what he needed from the way that the albums were being made on the road. He wanted to lock himself in the studio and take his time, be methodical. And that just wasn’t possible.””

— Julian Bunetta, one of One Direction’s songwriters and producers, talking about Zayn on a interview for Rolling Stone x - 07/22 (via zaynmalikupdates)

It’s confirmed now that most of the M.O.M songs were written back in the days.

And to top it all of, I am convinced Zayn wrote a lot of them in the company of no other than Liam Payne himself.

Liam said before:

“The first song me and Zayn wrote together” - to me that means there are more. He mentions a record, being their first one, but I feel like he isn’t talking about Soul Provider.

It also makes sense all the times Liam said he would collaborate best with Zayn. How their voices go well together. How he likes Zayn’s music the most. How he looked when he was watching Pillowtalk MV and how he praised the song several times (probably cause he had already heard it way before it came out). Ziam spent all those long nights on the road, in the company of each other, writing songs together and coaching each other. And they named a song Soul Provider, like what kind of soulmate shit is that??

Anyways, never mind me, I am just gonna go back to my Ziam hole, knowing there are several Ziam songs out there hidden from the world that we never heard of, that we have no idea what sounds like or what the lyrics are, and that we’ll probably never hear.

Archaeologists believe that the Whale Bone Alley of Yttygran Island, Siberia was built as a shrine and sacred meeting place by the Inuit in the 14th century. At the time, there was a temporary Ice Age that resulted in a prolonged winter, and food shortages that could have led to conflicts between Inuit tribes. Whale Bone Alley may have been the neutral place where they could come together to discuss their problems, take part in sacrificial offerings, and store their meat in the square pits that once existed between the bone walls.
