Life has had it’s share of ups and downs. My situation with work and home have changed dramatically in the last year and for the better which means I now have a lot more time to pursue my other activities some seriously big things are headed my way. stay tuned. 

Where have I been and why no new updates?

What have I been up to? Jason why no new fantastic pictures of lovely people? Well I don't do this full time I can't afford to. I do it out of the love I have for my art and the Joy it brings to people who participate in it and see the results. I've seen so many debates online about how artists do it for the love of the art it isn't about making money. It is one of the most asinine statements I’ve ever heard. Art takes money to produce.  If you’re a poet you need to purchase the supplies to record what you do even if it is pencil and paper. If your a musician you need to not only buy but maintain your instruments. Even if you’re a singer you want to share what you do you have to buy equipment. This is not a pity party or anything like that this is a frank discussion as to why I’m not as active as I was.  I’ve been unemployed working a temp job that didn't pay all of the bills. People have approached me about doing shoots and I give them prices and they say that ok they’ll talk about it and when they save up the money they will schedule something. It hasn't happened as simple as that. Being in a tight financial situation I can understand why. However I've then seen on their posts they hired a different photographer. The key word is hired. Which is fine if they felt the person they hired was better than me. Then please do me a favor and stop blowing smoke where the sun doesn't shine. I’m not afraid of critique honestly that is how we grow as an artists.  So I’m going to list why you haven’t seen anything from me in awhile.  1. My primary editing desktop is down and needs to be repaired this is where the majority of my image files are stored. While this isn't a memory problem and the photos are perfectly safe. My computer shuts down randomly so editing anything has the potential to damage it from an unexpected shut down. So I can’t even do all the fun editing techniques that I’ve been using or improving upon. 

2. Fuel even doing fun shoots with friends I haven’t been able to afford the gas to travel across town or locations to shoot. 

3. No studio to work with. I no longer have a home studio so if I’m going to shoot I have to rent or find a location that will let me shoot. 

4. Some of my gear especially my studio gear has been beat to death due to that unfortunate studio fiasco. I have to replace some of it if I want to do anything other then outside work.  So if you’re one of those Jackasses that says artists aren't interested in money. If you steal art, movies and photos just because it is on the internet I offer you a big hearty fuck you.  We do what we love to do and we do so usually at a net loss but when you run out of money and can no longer afford to do what you love to do it is a loss to everyone. 

The Man of Iron Debate.

So to keep things on track and easier to read I'm going to post The Victorian's report on Thomas Stark's Man of Iron Prototype and the debate about it here all together so you can follow along with it. 

Attention: Famed Industrialist who created the Giant Robot. Thomas Stark is rumored to have created a strange man like automaton. We have managed to get a hold of the Cynatype copy of this prototype automaton.

Our under cover source at Stark Foundries has found what looks to be the actual automaton. Our source at great personal risk smuggled out this image. We have to ask in light of the atrocities committed with the giant Robots what could this machine be used for. We have also discovered that Stark Foundries has purchased large quantities of Radium our source believes it is in conjunction with this insidious device.

Our source in Stark foundries have discovered something even more disturbing this man like mechanism is inordinately strong. From what you can see it is at least 5 times as strong as a normal man. You've see the damage the Iron Colossus giants have caused. Imagine the horror of something man sized bursting through your doors for the good of the Empire. By God what evil is this man thinking of?.

Our undercover agent at Stark Foundries has confirmed that this is a weaponized automaton. It seems to have a built in electrical discharge device. Whatever it is it is very dangerous. Our source is hinting this might not be what we think it is and will keep us updated. Considering Stark's last project and what it is being used for. This man must be held accountable for the loss of innocent British lives his creations have caused!

Gypsy Lavery I fear that the man has no idea the uses his creations are being put to sir. I wonder, has he been contacted for comment? We have heard that, though a touch arrogant, the man himself is of a most....compassionate nature.

J Miracle Mead Starr Compassionate he created giant war machines that are being used to kill our own people. He may not pilot them but how could he not be aware what the empire would use them for. Thomas Stark is a war mongering privateer as long as the crown fuels his foundries he will never stop churning out these hideous iron death machines.Life is cheap in the empire now death is easy.

Gypsy Lavery War mongering? Good heavens sir! His family has helped to build this empire! The Starks are WELL known for both their ingenuity and their charity. Surely, if these devices are being misused or mishandled it MUST fall to villainy within the HMMC itself. Though....as a woman I may not have access to much pertinent information as these things go.....

J Miracle Mead Starr Yes Madame his family has helped build the Empire on the bones of Men, Women, & Children. A few good deeds are not enough to wash their hands of the blood that stains them I tell you.

Gypsy Lavery To be sure, the family has made their fortunes off the sweat of the people, but such is the price of industry! For our beloved Empire to move forward sir, for us to become the mighty nation that God has willed for us, there MUST be sacrifices! To reach it's pinnacle, ALL mighty empires needed the full support of it's people!

J Miracle Mead Starr The cost is to high have you been to the slums of east London? Those great Iron devils have been protecting the demolition crews. They are destroying the homes and lively hoods of people who are just struggling to survive. I defy your reasoning and the so called divine right of greatness. "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.' Do not talk to me the mandate of god when it is at the machinations of these rich Masters.

Gypsy Lavery I fear my travels to east London are quite curtailed sir. A lady unescorted in those parts is merely a target for violence! However if the Crown has deemed it necessary for the area to be re-purposed, I am CERTAIN provisions have been made to relocate the citizenry. Have there been no safe houses erected for them? No temporary housing until the people can find adequate housing on their own? I refuse to believe that our glorious nation has simply allowed these people to stand in the way of progress. These machines are shining examples of the technology at our command! And yes sir I DO speak to you of the path God has chosen for our Empire!

J Miracle Mead Starr Yes I'm sure a Lady of your CLASS could not be bothered to find an escort to see the truth. You believe the lies as if they were feeding you spoonfuls of Laudanum to keep yourself comfortably numb to the truth of the empire. You have not seen the orphanages or the the factories where the children toil next to their mothers for a wage that they can't even survive on. Your conception of God is different then what was is in the book. The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

Gypsy Lavery You wound me sir! I am well aware of the plight of the poor in this great land. Why, I do my duty as a woman of CLASS (as you point out) and volunteer weekly at The Royal Victoria Patriotic Asylum! I feel deeply in my heart for these unfortunates, but as you know, there would BE no place for them without the march of progress makes it so! As for myself...I believe these clockwork men can bring us only good, though it may be at the risk of a few unfortunate souls. I would like very much to see what Master Stark has to say about all of this. Perhaps a statement from him will lay your fears to rest, as I am certain he has only the best interests of the empire at heart. (And let us leave my laudanum out of this!)

J Miracle Mead Starr Best interest of the Empire you say? That very well may be but you then have to ask what the interest of the empire is? You volunteer at one of the nice little empire approved charities that hide the truth. Try visiting some of the orphanages of the under privileged or sanitariums that are full of the people the empire uses and spits out for the good of the empire.

Gypsy Lavery Sir....if these things are indeed so...then I will have to defer to your superior knowledge of the seedier side of London. HOWEVER...I will venture forth and see for myself if these things are so. I would, of course, defer to Master Stark in the matter of the machines...but would like to tour both the foundries AND this area you speak of. I merely need an escort that can vouch for the safety of my person.

J.r. Whitcomb The best interest of the Empire indeed! I have heard the tale of what even a single one of these iron giants is capable of, most impressive! I feel though that their potential is being squandered rooting out the derelicts in our fair city. That should be the job of the Yard, and not these marvelous machines. I have recently returned to England to report to Her Majesty of the goings on in the frontiers of her great Empire, and we are in desperate need of war machines such as these. There is much unrest among the Sikh tribesmen, and filthy Americans have been feeding them crates of Winchester rifles and Gatling guns! I need not even mention the Russian encroachment from the north! I will be presenting a request to the Queen on the morrow for no less than 100 of Colossi, and that she inquire as to the mass production of these Automatons, for the Empire sorely needs them to secure our military strength!

J Miracle Mead Starr You think that these vile machines will secure the empire it will do nothing more then enslave the empire to the privileged few. The Americans are no better their government is already trying to replicate these devices for some of the same purpose. The empire is built on the backs of the poor and one day they will grow tired of the atrocities and then what of your rank and privilege. Have you learned nothing from the French?

Gypsy Lavery The Empire, sir, is built upon the backs of ALL her people! And as such there is a mutual responsibility. Her to protect us and make us strong, and us to serve her likewise!

J.r. Whitcomb They will most definitely secure the Empire! If the Americans are already attempting to build their own, that means Mr. Stark must certainly speed up the production of these devices. I will say, your comment has given me food for thought and I do indeed retract some of my previous statement. What I have learned from the French is that they allowed dissent to ferment in their slums. Perhaps I was wrong in thinking that these machines have no place in the slums of our fair city? The "poor" of the Empire have it better than many of the savages I have seen in my years of service in Her Majesty's military, and they should be thankful. Have we not workhouses for the jobless? Do we not have asylums for the sick? The "poor" as you label them are nothing but filthy ingrates that have no respect for what is handed to them. I for one was not born to a life of wealth and privilege, I earned it through the opportunity of providing service in the Empire's Military. Any one of these so called "downtrodden" are so by their own lack of ambition or unwillingness to work.

J Miracle Mead Starr You Sir can not be serious better living conditions then the so called savages. The living conditions of these savages were far better till the empire intervened. I would still challenge your assertion that it is better. Poor sewage system and the befouling of the Thames. Disease running rampant and crime that is fostered by the abhorrent living conditions. When the poor far outnumber all else in a society. That society is doomed to fall. Rome fell for much of the same reasons.

J.r. Whitcomb I am most certainly serious. I feel that I am more fit to judge as I have endured not only the farthest reaches of the Empire, but the wilds of the Dark Continent in the service of Her Majesty, and have seen the improvements we have made bringing civilization and order to these mongrels. We have brought them cleanliness, education, and order, the only problems stem from the savage mind refusing to accept modern society. Couple that with the enemies of the empire sowing dissent and arming these savages for their own gain, and we have the cock-tail of disharmony that you claim to be the fault of the Empires intervention. Again, I will say that I fully support Thomas Stark and his creations, and I eagerly await the chance to make use of them on the battlefield for Queen and Country!

J Miracle Mead Starr I laugh at your assumption of superiority through privilege. The civilization the empire brings are only offered to build the infrastructure to exploit their native resources and the sycophants that betray their own people. The fact that you reference your fellow man as mongrels shows your lack of humanity. Savage mind refusing to accept modern society? You surely jest. The empire will not expend the resources needed to make changes for the greater good of it's own native born people. You truly expect it to expend as much on non natives. You assume that I have not seen the horrors that empire has inflicted on native people of other lands that you gloss over. You are mistaken. You know very well the falsity of the the enemies of the empire assumption. Enemies of the Empire's people is more like it. Our investigations have discovered a link to these arms being supplied by the empires own arms manufactures and foundries. To perpetuate the conflicts to fuel to coffers of the war mongers. J.r. Whitcomb Your rebuttal only shows that you are willfully looking for that which you can explain as "wrong". As I have stated, these ills you say are the fault of our great nation, are nothing more than the byproduct of the natives resisting change for the better. We have done much for non natives in the Empire, if you need proof, simply look to the Elementary Education act that is making it's passage through Parliment! The people of Wales will finally have proper English schooling, but I'm sure you will say that a proper education will have some sort of sinister outcome, as you seem to see evil in any humanitarian action from Her Majesty. Now as to your prattling about the falsity of the enemies of the empire, that truly shows your ignorance of the matter. I can only guess you would say that the eyes of my men and I were being deceptive on the plains of Afghanistan staring down the barrels of Russian guns. With your so called "investigations", I have seen no evidence of good English weapons in the hands of our adversaries, not a single Webly revolver, nary a one Enfield rifle. As I have said, they are armed with bought or stolen arms of American make.You sir, are calling genius inventors war mongers, and if I may be so bold, Just called your Queen a tyrant. Were I less of a gentleman, I would see fit to lay my hands upon you and ring your neck for such insults.

J Miracle Mead Starr Good Sir 'I use the term most loosely' I am well aware of the Forster's Education Act. It was enacted because the robber barons want a better educated populace to remain competitive with all these new iron Horrors that have been released. I told you will reap what you have sown education will open eyes to what you and the other war mongers are doing. You will get war but not where you expect it. What we have found is cross trade in British arms where other countries arms are exchanged for British weapons then sold at a greater profit to hide the origins. We are following the trail we will find the truth. I have not called the Queen a tyrant. I stated that Truth is always subversive to Tyrants. Who those tyrants bee will be up to the men and women to determine whether it is Monarch or Robber Baron. Better men then you have tried Sir. I'm the last person you would want to meet.

BREAKING NEWS:  Our source has confirmed that this is not an automaton it is a suit of Armor. This is a war suit meant to augment a man to unholy levels and reek incredible havoc in battle. Our source has learned of some of the capabilities of this vile creation. It will give the wearer the Strength of 8 men. This could literally be used to rip soldiers apart as if they were nothing more then children's dolls. Our source says that it is powered by some form of Radium boiler system that augments the pistons to drive this incredible strength. The system is also used to power the terrifying electrical projection system shown in the previous article. With enough power to electrocute and elephant. More horrifying our source says the Radium system could be powered to the point of generating an electrical discharge equivalent to a an actual bolt of lighting which could melt iron plate. How can this even be controlled?! If you think that this power will stop or prevent war you are fools. I simply have to point out Dr. Gatling's Rotary Cannon for proof all it does is escalate war. Stark's own Iron Colossi are spurring other nations to develop their own counter measure in some form of absurd weapons race.

J.r. Whitcomb Indeed! But the point of any race is to win! I feel Thomas Starkshould be knighted for his contributions to our great Empires military might! Just think of what a company of Her Majesty's Royal Fusiliers would be capable of if outfitted with such suits! Those filthy Sikhs in the far reaches of the Empire would tremble! I will gleefully be awaiting word of their mass production, wondrous contributions such as this from Mr. Stark will truly insure that the sun shall never set on the British Empire!

The sun is already setting on the empire as these foundries befoul the air with the black smoke of death that blots out the sun on many of the days and where these foundries are the people cough up black ichor from their lungs. Gypsy Lavery Excellent points sir! I do not understand why ANYONE would attempt to keep these brilliant devices out of the hands of our fighting men! We need to ensure their safety on the front lines as WELL as ensuring the safety of our great nation! Why, the Americans are working fast apace to create their OWN weapons, capable of destroying dozens of our brave boys at a clip, and I hear tell that the Russians are working in secret to overthrow just about everyone. J Miracle Mead Starr These were not created with defense in mind but aggression to expand the empires borders and to subjugate people in the name of the empire. These wars are fed by the greed that these industrial Robber Barons such as Thomas Stark. You sir have raised my suspicions I think you have personal interest in escalating this insane situation.

J.r. Whitcomb What is wrong with expanding the borders of the Empire? By the grace of God, man, where is your patriotism? We do not seek to subjugate, but to embrace the people of the world with good, English civilization. Thomas Stark is no Robber Baron, but a genius with nothing but the good of Jolly Old England on his mind! J Miracle Mead Starr Try Worlds most oppressive military power! They didn't ask for it nor do they want "Good English civilization'. My patriotism isn't to any nation but to downtrodden and oppressed of the world. No Robber Baron you say? Admittedly he does pay a greater wage to his workers then some but he also owns the places they live and where they buy their goods. So the money goes back into his own coffers. These people do not have the choice to make themselves better. Many work 18 hours a day for a wage that is not survivable and their children must work as well whole families are worked to death in abject poverty. They can not educate themselves to a better position. Nothing to offer society you suggested previously they could become soldiers did you not? They seem good enough for that purpose lead catchers and bomb confetti. Ground up by his family yes when your landed nobles it is so hard of a struggle when your have the real support of the empire back up your endeavors. Thomas Willeford We had hoped to keep the press out of this, but I am afraid that it is true, that Suit is a test for an armored suit to give our men more of a fighting chance on the front lines. I wanted to make that "Thin Red Line" a bit more substantial, but I am afraid that suit was stolen, probably by some bloody anarchists. We are doing all in our power to track them down before they cause more mayhem.

J.r. Whitcomb I take the utmost offense to your suggestion that I frequent such places! Such dens of vice are one of the very causes of the good people of England lacking the desire to better themselves! I say again, it is their choice! They very well could become soldiers, her Majesty is always in need of good men. But alas, too many feel the need to sit idly by and complain with their hand out than do honest work for honest pay. As to your hurling of insults, I am none of those things, if Mr. Stark had not informed us of this grievous act of theft, I would insist that you back up your words with your fists!

J.r. Whitcomb Mr. Thomas Stark, this is most awful news. I have nothing but the utmost appreciation for your work and will not stand idly by for such things. Bloody anarchists! I shall call my mens furlough short to aid you in the recovery of your invention. The Royal Fusiliers Company C is at your disposal and will stop at nothing until this device is back in proper hands!

Gypsy Lavery Good sirs....I pray you attend! I write to you from hospital where I am being treated for minor wounds, burns and hysteria (I shall not allow them to drug me sirs! Not until I have spoken!) I have this very day done as I promised. I traveled to the east of London to see for myself what transpired there and witness the conditions...I find myself at a loss good sirs. The conditions are appalling indeed..tho I cannot say for certain if they were thus before the last few days....there are scorched buildings, huge chunks of metal embedded in the ground and surrounding structures and the reek of something foul like hellbourne lightning clings to all. I went in disguise so as to not only protect my person but also that I may catch a closer look at the scene. There is one gargantuan automaton still standing by the crews, though it appears heavily damaged. The strange "suit" was nowhere to be seen, but the area was flooded with Metropolitan Police. Everyone is on edge. I ducked down an alley to avoid the constabulary and get a closer look at one of these great beasts, and encountered something....else. All I remember was a bright light, the smell of oil and then nothing. I regained my senses and was quickly discovered and brought to hospital. GENTLEMEN....I do not know what I encountered in that alleyway....but I know in my heart that none of these things is under the control of either the crown OR Master Stark. The destruction of the slums was a necessary thing, to be sure....but the automatons are NOT in the hands of those who would see our empire prosper or expand. I am torn in my mind and my heart gentlemen. There must be a way to stop ALL of these beasts and return their control to those who know best what is right for ALL of us. God save us.

J Miracle Mead Starr Lady I salute your courage you at least attempted to see the truth. I will disagree on points the colossi are under crown control and the necessity of clearing out the homes. Whoever the person is that Stole Thomas Stark's death armor may think they are doing some good and I hope that their attempt is honest. I have to wonder if it is. Or is it just to take out his rivals? These mechanicals were designed with soldiers like you in mind MrWhitcomb. So you will get to see receiving end on these iron horrors for yourself. This technology is Pandora's box where even hope has escaped. Empire is now starting to feel the beginnings of the whirl wind. I fear many are going to die before this is over.

Update: We have a report that the Stark Personal Combat Armor has been stolen from Stark Foundries. Our source has reported the person or persons that stole the armor also destroyed key parts of the foundry that are essential to the production of the Iron Colossi. It is quite possible that Thomas Stark will not be able to produce any more of these Iron Killing Machines.  Another Source has provided an Image of the some one in the Armor battling one of the Colossus. Our source also reports that Colossus opened fire with its Gatling Gun and the bullets bounced of the attacker one bystander was quoted as saying "Like e was a Man of Iron guvner e was."  We would still advise caution about this Iron Vigilante until we know more of what his plans are. Stopping the Iron Colossi could be their first step into something more nefarious

Breaking News: We have a startling image of the brutal power of Thomas Stark's Man of Iron war armor. The culprit/culprits that have stolen this armor are systematically destroying the Iron Colossi at an alarming rate. It is rumored that the crown is going to withdraw the Colossi from the urban 'Renewal' program and suspend the project indefinitely. Thus saving the homes of the poor for the foreseeable future. We at The Victorian loath to admit it but these miscreants have seem to done some actual good in our fair London town.  The remaining colossi are being transported back to the suppression of the empires borders they are too valuable to risk against this rouge element.  Stark seems to have some form of advanced image recording device in the control room of the Colossus. The source we have in Stark Foundries say they are for tactical battle analysis. Our opinion is so the generals can enjoy the images of the whole sale slaughter their war machines create. The operator of the colossus was severely injured but not killed.

When Questioned, Thomas Stark stated the following, "I have no Comment on this matter, now piss off I have servants to abuse."

Update: Date 1890 The Man of Iron has eliminated the last of the Iron Colossus in England. The last confirmed battle happening in east London was a resounding defeat for the Empire's forces. It appears there are limitations to the battle armor. We have acquired a shot of the vigilante resting. Reports state he seems to be shaky on his feet but still managed to elude the officers of Scotland Yard. Since the remaining Colossi have been removed their have been no other reports of the Man of Iron. When We tried to reach of Thomas Stark for comment he was unavailable due to a persistent illness.

Date 1892 Attention: One of the Iron Colossi has been stolen from her Majesties service dock. The Colossus was returned for maintenance from it station in the colony of New Zealand for basic upkeep. This was a fully refurbished Colossus and fully loaded with a war armament. Since the theft and disappearance of the Man of Iron war armor of Thomas Stark. They destroyed key technology that allowed the Colossi to be built and there haven't been any new ones produced since then. Thomas Stark has been reported to be in declining health since the theft of his property. Lord Stark is known to be a hands on in the development of his machines often tampering with strange unknown substance and chemicals. The rumors have been circulated that this has severely affected his health. This is what many suspect to be the reason for his reclusive behavior. You may detect a change of tone with us here at The Victorian in regards to Lord Stark. More extensive investigation on what he has been doing has uncovered some surprising facts about what he has done silently. We will concede that Lord Stark may have built his death machines what he believed was for the overall good of the Empire. We will still argue about the validity and rightness of what he has done. We can not however ignore the true philanthropic causes that he wished to remain hidden. Thomas Stark is a complex man to say the least. We have to wonder what his reaction the the theft of one of his war machines. We have an image of the Man of Iron Fighting the culprit who stole the Colossus. It is a brutal battle and the Man of Iron armor has appears to have suffered extensive damage. We will have agents on the scene to let you know the results of the confrontation.

THIS JUST IN: We have breaking news the person wearing the Man of Iron armor is none other then Thomas Stark himself. The horrific fight between him and the unknown assailant has ended with the death of the Colossus pilot and the destruction of the device itself. It looks like the armor has been severely damaged. Lord Stark does not look either reports him yelling incoherently something like "I AM THE IRON MAN!!"  We have an image just in.

Whats Going on with Thomas Stark?

Ok a good friend of mind Thomas Willeford of Brute Force studios decided to make a Man of Iron Steam Punk Avenger. He has a whole back story to it as well.  Well I offered to take photos of it as well as my associate Mike Liebner. It was a blast we had a limited time to shoot and I got a bunch of photos done.  I know he wanted to wait till Comicon to be seen but I had the idea of leaking pictures in a manner of an undercover Journalist for the people's paper The Victorian a facebook page I created. I started releasing photos and then created a pages for Thomas Stark and Stark foundries. Couple of my friends started a Victorian flame war to perpetuate the story I'll post it all on here when it is done.

Boycott of Jeff Mach events

This is an important post.

Many of you know me as one of the J&J Miracle Mead Men and founders of J & J Miracle Mead. I've posted a boycott on my other pages for Jeff Mach events in support of Thomas Willeford: Brute Force Studios. The reason is the draconian anti Harassment policies. I do believe you have the right to enjoy an event with minimal discomfort and harassment. However this policy states if you are accused you are guilty and this is something I can not abide. False accusations may be rare but in and environment where there is no consequence for false accusation for the accuser then you open the door for abuse.

From a professional Photographer stand point no pictures unless you specifically ask to take that person's picture. This is a public event where people dress up in costume and are there to be seen.

If I compose a shot for someone I have permission to shoot and someone is partially in the background of that shot and they complain by their rules I would have to delete that photo of suffer being accused of harassment even if the picture wasn't detailed.

If I'm looking to shoot individuals and I always ask if I can take their photo. However if I'm shooting crowds I don't. When I shoot performers I don't. Unless photography is specifically forbidden for said performer.

I understand many conventions are taking hard roads against professional photographers to Philadelphia comic con banning interchangeable lens cameras. Which I have issues with as well but that is different post for a different time. So You will not be seeing me or my camera at any future Jeff Mach events unless their are changes to this policy. Thank you.
