Hic & Hoc has published a lot of fucking garbage over the past few years, and I can’t for the life of me move most of my inventory.

Accordingly, I’ll have a bunch of back catalogue titles for sale at half off this weekend at SPX. Stop by E7 and get some disappointing, but cheap, comics.

Same crap, same reduced prices at MICE this weekend. Table C108.

(I’m sold out of Sneeze though.)

Join us on Halloween Weekend (October 29th - 30th) at University Hall at Porter Square in Cambridge, MA to meet all of our lovely special guests!

FAITH ERIN HICKS

Faith Erin Hicks (@faitherinhicks) is a prolific Canadian cartoonist who started making comics “for fun” in 1999 with her web comic Demonology 101. The first book in her new fantasy graphic novel trilogy The Nameless City was published by First Second Books earlier this year.

RAÚL THE THIRD

Raúl the Third (Raúl Gonzalez III) (@raulthethird) is a fine artist and cartoonist whose energetic style drives the adventures of the fantastical graphic novels Lowriders in Space and the recently released Lowriders to the Center of the Earth written by Cathy Camper. The Somerville resident was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up traveling between El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, México. His art is inspired by the Mercado and the many curiosities sold by his family in their booths.

KERASCOËT

Kerascoët is the shared pen name of French illustrators Marie Pommepuy and Sébastien Cosset. They are best known in the US for their graphic novel Beautiful Darkness, where their fanciful cartooning frames a grim tale of mortality written by Fabien Vehlmann. The married couple met while attending the Olivier de Serres art school and now work together in comics and animation.

WREN MCDONALD

Wren McDonald (@wrenmcdonald) is a cartoonist and illustrator based in Brooklyn, NY. Following last year’s apocalyptic comic, Cyber Realm, Wren’s new full-length graphic novel, SP4RX, drops in November from Nobrow – with advance copies available at MICE! SP4RX is a story of survival and corruption, about a young hacker thief who finds himself lost in the nightmare of corporate espionage.

SARA VARON

Sara Varon is a printmaker, graphic novelist, and children’s book author/illustrator living in Brooklyn, NY. Sweaterweather, published earlier this year, is a reprinted collection of short comics from her quirky world of animal characters. Her most recent picture book, President Squid, written by Aaron Reynolds, is a timely and silly exploration of the ideal qualities of leaders, diplomats…and giant squid.

JEREMY SORESE

Jeremy Sorese’s (@jeremysorese) unique brushwork is on epic display in his debut graphic novel is Curveball, published by Nobrow. Curveball is the tale of one man coping with the ending of a difficult relationship in a future where humanity is losing its grip on technology.

NATE POWELL

Nate Powell (@natepowell) is a New York Times best-selling graphic novelist who began self-publishing at age 14. Nate illustrates the March trilogy – the acclaimed graphic novel autobiography of civil rights icon John Lewis – in his distinctive loose yet sophisticated style. He also creates comics of his own, such as You Don’t Say, Any Empire, and Swallow Me Whole, which further showcase his skills as a thoughtful storyteller.

DREW WEING

Drew Weing (@drewweing) is a cartoonist from Athens, GA who makes comics for the web and print. His current project is The Creepy Casefiles of Margo Maloo, an ongoing webcomic that follows the mysterious adventures of a young monster mediator. First Second Books published the first collected volume in September 2016. The work has already begun to collect accolades winning a 2016 National Cartoonist’s Society award for online comics (long form).

Looking forward to seeing y’all there in a month!

Responsibility Report 2016 JetBlue

I was asked by JetBlue to do a series of comics about the outreach programs they’ve had during 2015. Together we created this series which they put into their Responsibility Report for 2016 (they were placed with expanded stories detailing each program, which is why the comics themselves don’t all go into much detail). It was really fun to use my comics skills to tell real stories about inspiring people.
