5sos 30 day art challenge

Hello all yes I’ve been bad for consistency lately so I thought: ART CHALLENGE! I encourage anyone who likes 5sos and likes to draw to take part. I’ve tried my best to make it well rounded and challenging so growth will take place no matter what.

I only have one rule: once you start, you must complete the challenge. Flex your self-discipline muscles, you won’t regret it!

(ALSO if you normally draw in a certain style I strongly encourage you to try otherwise! For me I’m comfortable with realism so I’m gonna try cartoons for most of this.)

  1. Your fave
  2. Your OTP
  3. Squad goals
  4. Mother + son
  5. Transform a meme into a 5sos and make it the dankest
  6. A fetus moment
  7. A ROWYSO moment
  8. A thing that involves RJ the tour dog
  9. No turning back: create a thing, but you’re not allowed to erase any strokes.
  10. Draw headshots of all of them bald or with hair that isn’t their own... if they are recognizable congrat!
  11. Use the first palette you’re given (and don’t forget to screenshot it too!)
  12. Build a member from a base of simple geometric shapes and see what happens (make sure you show the stages)
  13. Fill a page of a single lad in various facial expressions in consistent style
  14. Make your own ROWYSO tour poster (consistent with their new art style obvs)
  15. Cartoon crossover... in that art style!
  16. Caricature (yeah I went there)
  17. Draw them as one of these (you better look at them all before making your choice)
  18. Mythical creature AU!
  19. Draw one or all in their old age
  20. Make a would-be single or fictional album artwork for made up or underrated songs
  21. Create a classic tattoo design in true 5sos style
  22. Parody a print ad for any cosmetic product (share the ad you used for ref too!)
  23. Make a short animation at least 3 frames (if you can’t do it on computer make a lil flipbook!)
  24. Make a comic panel in your truest comic style (it can be Don’t Stop inspired but it doesn’t have to be)
  25. Make lyric art
  26. Create a portrait in an influential artist style (Warhol, Picasso, Van Gogh, Banksy, etc)
  27. Make an Animorphs book cover
  28. Click on either the “Character” or “Creature” prompt, screenshot, and draw it!
  29. PLEASE DRAW USING ONE OF THESE AS A REFERENCE
  30. Draw anything you want using new skills you learned!

Hi Sabrina! I love your work and it inspired me to start doing digital pieces! What programs do you recommend?

Omg who are you?!? I’d love to see your stuff! It makes me smile to think I’ve inspired you! I use photoshop cs5 and sometimes illustrator but I know a lot of people like (I think it’s called) Corel painter? (Edit: I’m thinking of Painttool SAI)

Also sorry for being an inactive noot I am a horrible person this question was probably in my ask box for a millennium

should I make a separate tumblr/social media for my drawings or just put it on the page I already have?

I'll let you in on something: this blog was once many different other blogs before what it is now. That including, a personal blog (posts about literally everything) mixed with my art. It was okay for the time being, but I realized that my art needed a special place of its own.

Honestly it boils down to personal preference, but most people who post their art regularly or have a lot of art do make a separate space for it. I would suggest doing this so you won't have to make changes down the road like I did, but it really is up to you!

hey i just wanted to say WOW your artworks are amazing!!! i love that colourful one of 5sos i was just wandering how you did it was it with pencil? also i enjoy drawing and im pretty average at it but i SUCK at drawing hair any advice??

Avatar

Hi! Thank you! It's an acrylic painting, no pencil involved. As for hair drawing tips, my advice is to always use a sharp pencil, use a fine edge eraser, build up gradually and take your time. I personally feel like hair is my weak point too, so just read up on a lot of tutorials online and practice :)

Hi there, your draws are amazing! I really really want to someone draw my self potrait. It doesn't have to be in traditional way tho. Do you take any requests? :)

Right now I only am doing commissions for traditional portraits, which you can read the info about here. I'm willing to discuss other options if you wanted something else in particular. Just contact/email me through my website :)

what was the hardest part to make/do in the c.a.l.m thing? it's beautiful by the way

Thank you! I think the hardest part was figuring out how to get the outline onto the canvas while keeping it looking as crisp as the digital version (since I made that first). I did the outline like 3 times before I got it right!

Post 5 things you like about yourself publicly then send this to your 10 favorite followers (non-negotiable) (positivity is cool).

You're so talented I love your artwork! Also is the software you used to create the Luke 18 pic hard to use?

Thank you! I personally don't find it hard at all and it wasn't hard for me to learn, but some people may disagree (Photoshop CS5)
