Very bad at Tumblr, but I'll try to live up to my imaginations. Mostly Marvel, Harry Potter and Assassin's Creed reblogs. Also other fandoms such as Supernatural, DC television series, The Legend of Korra, etc. You're welcome to have a look around :D

Passport Photo Series London-based visual artist Max Siedentopf recruited a cast of friends and strangers to sit for passport photos. Above the shoulders the participants are straight-faced and rigid, yet below they are balancing full wine glasses along their arms, taped to a wall, or even on fire.

The remains of a 1,200-year-old pagan temple to the Old Norse gods has been discovered in Norway’s seaside town of Ose. It is the first such temple found in the country. Though we know what the building was, based on surviving temples in Denmark and Sweden. The wooden building is large for the time, about 45 feet (14 meters) long, 26 feet (8 m) wide, and up to 40 feet (12 m) high. Archaeologists think it was built sometime in the 700s, and would have been the site of sacrifices (and more mundane religious observances) during the midsummer and midwinter solstices.

The Norse began building these large “god houses” in the 500s CE. They replaced simpler cult sites, often outdoors, that had previously sufficed for worship. Larger god houses became popular as Norse society became more stratified and dominated by wealthy families, who are thought to have built god houses as part of their taking control of the cults of the gods.

The Old Norse religion was suppressed from the 1000s, when Norway’s kings forcibly imposed the Christian religion, and destroyed god houses to enforce worship in the new Christian churches. Perhaps including the one at Ose. (The one above is a reconstruction, the real site has only the foundations remaining.)

Her dad’s basically been holding her hostage for most of her life so he can make money off of her. It’s gross AF and hope she not only wins but sues his ass into oblivion for all the pain and suffering he put her through.

When it hits you, that raising a shape-shifting baby of a different species might not be as easy as you thought

Thor in Thor1:

Beginning - reckless, arrogant and hot-headed.

Midpoint shift - realising he had been wrong in his ways and that his Father was right.

End - EARNS his powers back by a selfless act and stops the carnage his brother was causing at a personal cost (destroying the bridge).

Overall arc - the hero’s journey where he LEARNS to be more compassionate and kind when exiled from home.

Thor in Thor2:

Beginning - caught between his desire to be with the person he loves and his responsibility towards his home in the form of taking the throne (reluctance to calling).

Midpoint shift - realising the Father and King he held on a pedestal is acting in his own self-interest instead of their kingdom’s and that he himself needs to take action now (taking to his calling without even realising), even if it means mutiny.

End - denying the damn calling for a peaceful life that doesn’t involve him making decisions for others’ lives.

Overall arc - becoming the King in the true sense and DECIDING that he doesn’t want that life of scrutiny, choosing to do right by the person who waited years for him instead.

Thor in Thor3:

Beginning - searching for infinity stones for 2 years and finding none. + Sudden ability to make constant quips (old lingo also gone).

Midpoint shift - none. + Constant quips.

End - takes the throne of Asgard because his dad died, hilariously. + Constant quips.

Overall arc - going from a guy making quips no matter what the situation (retcon of his previous personality anyway) to the King of his kingdom making quips no matter what the situation.

-

Everyone: “Thor Ragnarok is the best movie ever made because it gave Thor an actual arc with personality and substance, unlike both previous movies (which are the worst films ever made ever in the history of ever) where he is nothing but a 1D boring idiot with no development whatsoever.”

YES EXACTLY! although there were maybe some issues in the other movies and especially dark world, it was so good in terms of character archs and development!
