Down at the beach near Suffolk park. Right next to ti tree lake and the beach. Such a beautiful area. Very close to Byron Bay. Close to Ballina too. The waves are glorious, right on the ocean. Perfect for surfing or swimming. A little rough at times. My favourite part is the Suffolk park bakery. They have a wide range of baked goods; sausage rolls and pies, cakes, sweets and bread. The coffee is smooth and sweet. You know I really enjoy a place when I post multiple photos of it. Marian and her crew do a wonderful job. I've just ordered breakfast and I'm drinking a beautifully brewed chai tea. Evans Head is a cute little coastal town about an hour south of Byron Bay. I haven't seen much of the town, but from my short experience i have found the locals to be friendly and hospitable. Evans to Betsy in particular is well worth the drive in my opinion. You need to visit at least once. They have the Cafe, but also a knick knack shop with a range of antique goodies. Who knows what you might find? I'm so happy to have been pointed in this direction. Thank you again to Marian. A van is a vital asset; it is a place to sit, a place to eat or drink and also a place to sleep - it is a home. This glorious sunset. I was almost rushing cause i was running later than i told my friends i would be. I said 6pm that I'd be at the festival. I got there at 8pm. My hopes were that I'd get in with enough daylight to find everyone and set up camp nearby. But gosh! I'm glad I arrived when i did. I was witness to the most spectacular sunset I've seen and it instantly repositioned how i felt at the time; it hit me hard and soft and by the time the sun had hidden itself behind the world, i was ready. Adventures don't necessarily need to be planned. Nor must they be the sole activity of the journey. While travelling home from Sydney, I decided that I'd have a little adventure; an exploration. All it took was five minutes for me to turn off, stop the car and relax. Mt Pleasant lookout, hidden along the Kiama bends, is worth the stop. It is along the highway and it isn't very noticeable; it's easily missed. But damn! Just take a look at that view. There are a couple of picnic tables, so it's a great lunch time stop over if you packed a lunch. Or if you have heaps of time, stop in Kiama grab some supplies then head over.
