#TEAMCOCKBLOCK
i don’t think you guys understand how big of a deal this is. like nobody thought she was going to even make it past the semifinals. olympic team funding is being cut, she was the only tennis player we sent, no puerto rican woman has ever brought back a gold medal for us, she is so proud of her roots, we’re in such a shithole today and this one win gives us the glimmer of hope that our country so desperately needs during our financial, social, political and moral crisis. no one thought she would win. no one backed her. she was critiqued constantly for competing for puerto rico instead of the united states. but she won, she won for us, and she beat everyone else and she’s repping our flag abroad.
PUERTO RICO LO HACE MEJOR
Monica Puig just became the first female medalist for Puerto Rico and the first Gold Medalist. This is history being made for Puerto Rico and I couldn’t be prouder of my fellow Puertorricans!
☆ — drew van acker gif icons!!
by clicking here, you will find 130 gif icons of the actor, drew van acker, as requested by anonymous ( a million years late, whoops ). absolutely none of the original gifs are mine, i simply resized, cropped, and added a psd to them. full credit for the original gifs goes to @loriiwrites. just do me and favor and don’t add these to other hunts. if you use them/are an rph, please like or reblog!!
I want to write an alternative version of Romeo and Juliet where instead of being a little ponce and trying to work things out for himself, Romeo asks his smarter friends what to do about the whole thing and Benvolio and Mercutio come up with the world’s greatest plan:
Marriage of convenience between Juliet and Mercutio.
Think about it.
Juliet’s parents want her to marry into the Prince’s family. Mercutio is a good compromise between no marriage and Paris.
Mercutio probably won’t get his inheritance if he keeps being HELLA FUCKING GAY ALL OVER THE PLACE so a beard is only a benefit to him.
They would probably get along great rolling their eyes at how adorably stupid Romeo is.
Romeo and Benvolio could get a “bachelor pad” right next to Juliet and Mercutio’s house. Every night, Romeo and Mercutio high five as they hop the fence to go bang their one true love.
The second half of the play is just all of them trying to keep up the charade and being “THIS CLOSE” to getting caught all the time. But everything ends nicely because true love conquers all.
Everybody wins. Nobody dies.
THE SHAKESPERE AU I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED
DUDE DID YOU JUST FIX ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC PLAYS EVER CREATED?!
ONCE AGAIN EVERYTHING IS SOLVED BY THE QUEER LENS.
I’m glad we dated. I needed to date you.
The ideal body is everywhere you look, and we are made to feel like failures by advertisers and corporations who shame us into buying their products.
THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH MONICA PUIG FOR GIVING US OUR FIRST OLYMPIC GOLD. THANK YOU SO MUCH I’M CRYING SO MUCH OF HOW HAPPY IM RIGHT NOW. PUÑETA ORGULLOSO DE SER PUERTO RIQUEÑÑO
i’ve tried to stay quiet on the olympics this year but:
monica puig just won the first olympic gold ever for puerto rico. for a country in crisis, a crisis that tumblr continues to ignore, this means more than words can express. i’ve seen puerto ricans from all walks of life cheering her on, and my country’s more united than it’s been in my 22 years of life. this is a good day. this is an amazing day. my heart swells with boricua pride and i’ve never wished to be home more than i do right now because i want nothing more than to celebrate with my people.
we cheered, we cried, we hugged each other, and cried again while listening to the national anthem.
si se puede, puerto rico.
