The difference is, The Boston Tea Party destroyed tea, something that they were heavily taxed on. Modern day riots destroy small/family owned businesses, destroying not a corporation, but a local business owner who’s just trying to make an honest living.

Dismantling an entire means of taxation is very different from destruction of businesses that are there to help keep you from paying too many taxes.
