Three short fics set around 7x06, "There Goes the Groom." In order: Bobby and Athena at the wedding reception with a side of Bobby & Buck; Chimney makes a dramatic entrance; and Buck follows through on his wedding-date promises to Tommy (largely via theft). Very minor spoiler spec, mostly vibes!
All rated: General Audiences Total words: 8,000 Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Characters: Buck, Bobby, Athena, Tommy, Chimney, Maddie, Hen
“It’s a beautiful thing, the two of them finding each other,” Athena says, her eyes on the happy couple; putting Bobby’s thoughts into exactly the right words, as usual. “It really is,” Bobby agrees, and he squeezes her hand. Athena glances at him and smiles, and Bobby falls in love all over again, like he has thousands of times in five years. “You ever wish we had one of these?” Athena guffaws. “Are you hinting at something, Bobby Nash?” He smiles. “Just asking.”

Chim leans back just enough that he can see Maddie. She’s watching him luminously, eyes filled with tears, but smiling ear to ear. “I’m here through some short, short vows and the first dance,” Chimney recites, and he’s smiling just at Maddie. “Then I turn into a pumpkin and get dragged to the hospital for observation just in case.” “He was very persuasive,” Hen says, long-suffering and fond and so warm, and Maddie laughs wetly; Chim does too.

It’s strangely dim, the low light soft and flickering, and Tommy realizes why when he follows Evan and finds— A set of glass doors out to a tiny balcony overlooking the steely overnight sky just barely beginning to lighten to gray dawn over the lights of the city. Spread across the coffee table on a couple of paper plates, an impressively varied spread of finger foods that look … suspiciously familiar. Three candles lit and flickering in an obviously, intentionally romantic touch. Something in Tommy’s stomach wants to swoop even though he thought he was past that by this point in his life.
