Man, they are really going all out on the disturbing, radiation mutations shit. It just keeps getting worse.

First it was the huge roaches, which I thought was bad enough, then that monster with human fingers for teeth 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢, and now that woman giving birth to a bunch of fish who immediately start feeding on her. Like WTF????!!!!

Seriously, there's some stuff I'll never be able to unsee. I don't know how they're being able to combine all of that with so much humor but I'm loving every second of it.

OMFG there are huge cockroaches that evolved to eat humans. Seriously, man, why did it have to be fucking roaches?! Why?!

If we want to protect your brother, we need all the Fremen to believe in the prophecy. We must convert the non-believers one by one. We need to start with the weaker ones, the vulnerable ones, the ones who fear us.

I feel like so many critics are angry about the Civil War movie 'not taking a stand' but I think that misses the point. This was not gonna be a movie about "this side good, that side bad". On the ground, war is hardly political. The 'looters' being strung up ("knew him in high school, he barely talked to me, now he does"), the two soldiers pinned down by a sniper with christmas background music, Jesse Plemons' character picking them off one by one, the Global Relief Fund camp, etc. This wasn't necessarily about (American) politics, why the civil war broke out, or how the various alliances came about. This was about war on the ground, on the streets, the role of journalists in showing that, are they complicit or not, how much must you sacrifice for the money shot, is there a 'right' meaning we can draw from their images?

To me it was actually a very effective and thought-provoking anti-war movie. (Also the cast and cinematography were both phenomenal.)

A child free from the guilt of ownership and the burden of economic competition will grow up with the will to do what needs doing and the capacity for joy in doing it. It is useless work that darkens the heart. The delight of the nursing mother, of the scholar, of the successful hunter, of the good cook, of the skillful maker, of anyone doing needed work and doing it well—this durable joy is perhaps the deepest source of human affection, and of sociality as a whole.

revisiting star wars is really about rediscovering just how unhinged john williams really is. there’s a reason they picked him to make the olympic sport anthem, a universal theme song for the entire planet. literally insurmountable skill on display in every composition. It takes an absolute champion among the human race to wake up every day knowing you’re the guy who made Duel Of The Fates. and he did All Of That. For Space Wizards.

Loving that everybody’s going crazy over how hot Wagner Moura is in Civil War but it was about time!

I’ve been on this boat for 19 years, now, since A Lua Me Disse (a soap opera he did here in Brazil) long before he had that tight little body!

Y’all enjoy!!
