The only thing that saved this monster from meeting the end of Yuri’s blade right away was the fact that he (well at least it had a male voice) had spoken. Monsters didn’t speak. They weren’t intelligent enough to, yet this armored skeleton had. Clearly he wasn’t the standard, run-of-the-mill skeleton monster.

“Well, glad to know it’s not entirely a species thing,” Yuri replied. “I’d actually have to be miserable for euthanizing to work so... what you’re talking about is just plain killing.” Yuri did keep his sword ready, though not fully raised. He was waiting to see if this monster was truly aggressive or if this was all just tough talk.
