POST IT FOR MY NIECE:

Because racism exist and someone might try to make you feel different for being too black or not being black enough. (But you are different, and that’s a great thing!)

Because sexism exist and someone might try to make you feel less capable because you have two x chromosomes. (They’re just sad because they only have one.)

People can be silly sometimes -- but don’t worry, we’re on it. And if it ever get’s to you, remember that the world may not be perfect, but you sure are! So smile and get your shine one you little ray of light!

Favorite artist of the month, clarafialho. 

Fialho’s work is, for me, a representation of the beauty in the chaos of life. I especially love the light and youthfulness that is preserved in her work. 

She has some pretty expensive pieces - that of course I like the best - but also others that are very reasonably priced. Definitely the next addition to my humble-but-growing collection!

Hiked Tar Creek again this summer. In less than three years all the waterfalls here have been reduced to a trickle. California desperately needs some rain.
