it goes without saying, but if @staff goes through with this its going to be an utter shitshow and im all but certain the website will not survive it.

everyone go enable this immediately. it can be a bit hard to find because “visibility” is under blog settings instead of general settings or privacy. you have to do this individually for each separate side-blog

if you can’t find it on the app then the update probably hasn’t rolled out to you, and you’ll have to go through the web browser. what a truly wild way/time to implement this

the reason I like tumblr is because it’s so easy not to be found here. I don’t have to worry about people from real life being able to find me bc I can hide my blog from search engine results. I can be openly gay here and have a little space to myself to explore my interests and stuff. Social media has always made me really anxious as I’m a naturally reserved person. I’m reluctant to use such widely used sites like Instagram and twitter because I don’t want my family or friends I’m not too close to find me on there ! To be honest, ever since I found out about tumblr blacklisting posts with external links, I’ve given up maintaining my tumblr account. Then, when I started Instagram (I’m @ourenart there), I just cross posted from Instagram and didn’t care anymore. But, with Tumblr restricting content and flagging stuff irrationally, I feel uncomfortable with the platform. I actually liked reading the long, in depth discussions about various topics here. I enjoyed that air of freedom. Sure, unsolicited pornbots are a problem, but you don’t need to punish the artists, writers, and fandoms for them. So, for those of you who are unaware that I cross post from Instagram now, you can find me on Instagram at ourenart.

I actually dont see any flags on my account. Maybe I’m not accessing something to be able to see them, or I just dont have enough engagement here to matter to the algorithm?
