READY, SET, LOVE [EP 3]

I ended up watching Netflix's most recent Thai offering Ready, Set, Love (blaming @clairedaring for this, yet again) and I am sorry for borrowing your schtick @blmpff but MY GOD the symmetry and colours in this series are driving me nuts (affectionate). That pink scene alone was worth it, and then you get loads of cringe, laughs, genuine feelings and Man Trisanu's awkward dance moves. I reserve my final judgement for when I finish it all but I'm enjoying this little dystopian YA experiment so far.

Okay, Ready Set Love on Netflix kinda slaps in that it's both a really silly, goofy show about a quirky reality show but also a sharp satire about how both governments and companies will treat people as commodities at the first opportunity. Also, it had gorgeous set design and some damn good cinematography at parts. Was it perfect? No. But I feel like if it was more popular or in English there would be dozens of video essays being made about it right now lol.

#I thought it was maybe a book manga or webtoon the way it jumped forward#sad to find out it wasn't cuz theirs so much potential! even just slowing it down and living in certain story beats more#some stuff also wasn't super thought out but idk if it had more time this could have been great it's such a fun concept#ready set love
