i can only access this blog through my phone now because i am stupid. i have moved to @fromthecloudstotheresistance if you want to follow me (back). i am still a bit frustrated about it but i guess this could be like a fresh start.

imdb top 250 as a whole is extremely Eurocentric and US-centric and has primarily films from imperialist countries (countries that control our access to film and decide the canons of taste) as well as films that could be considered ethnocentric, not to mention misogynistic, racist, etc. and there always seems to be fanboys there to protect this canon and belittle efforts by others to go against the canon. and i, a literal film babe/crusader for international cinema, am the elitist!? okay... :)

i liked Ninotchka until Garbo learned to love America and capitalism. i thought she was already charming before the transition lol. after capitalism, she became humorless.

i really can’t take being impartial anymore. the lists submitted by my mutuals really go off!! ♥ ♥

film tumblr canon 2016

here are the results for the film tumblr poll i conducted. the results were gathered from 51 lists submitted by tumblr users. thank you so much to the people who submitted their lists!!! any film title submitted four or more times made the cut. the aim was to compile a list of 100+ films representative of film tumblr’s collective/personal taste and sensibilities. if you want to see the list in visual presentation form, i also have the list at mubi (chronological order) and letterboxd (ranked order).
