Working out some ideas… For this one I played around with the #bardotbrush Alcohol Marker set for some bold coloring in of the shapes. Fun! Lisa makes so many amazing sets for Procreate. These were used in combo with some of my own custom brushes made from painted textures. I wish I remembered which tutorial I followed to share here, but there’s info on Skillshare and YouTube about it if you’re interested. I was taking shots of Summer Sparklers today and found a perfect illo for International Women’s Day! Today, I’m finalizing this pattern to submit to a Spoonflower design challenge this week! The theme is passementerie which is all about trimmings, cording, beading and tassel adornments. With it’s oversized florals and cool, calm vibe, it would be perfect for home decor. More play and exploration today with the theme: passementerie. Have you heard of it? I had not, but came across the term when I was checking out Spoonflower challenges. It's the art of embellishment and trimmings on clothes and furniture with things such as beads, braiding, tassels, and fringe. This is very much not my usual aesthetic, but I found some forms and line work, like soutache braiding, inspiring.
