TLDR context: They bonded by mistake a long time ago. Due to miscommunication, Floch ends up having their bond broken and leaves their shared home. He finds another alpha to try and get rid of his heat, but bumps into Jean along the way who has been looking for him since Jean came back to an empty home. And.... insert imagination... During this encounter, Jean wants to bond again (for realsies), but Floch--being under the impression that Jean was regretful about their bond the first time--- pushes him away.
