Hi, this is kinda outta the blue. But I just wanted to say thanks, about a year or so ago I was in a really bad place. And your overwhelming positivity was pretty great at putting a smile on my face when things were really bad. I've just started pulling my life back together and I wanted to let you know that despite how little we actually spoke, you're just kinda general demeanour most definitely had a part in keeping me in one piece. Thank you.

Hi, anon! Sorry for taking a few days to see/respond to this, as this blog isn’t active anymore (I’ve spent the last few months on my RP blogs). But thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really glad I was able to help.

Here’s hoping you continue making that wonderful progress towards building yourself back up. It’s hella tough, and you can’t be positive all the time - even me, years into my recovery, just had a long weekend filled with tons of anxiety and sadness. But that’s part of it. I’ll continue to try my best, and I hope you can, too.

2017 recovery mood:

“coping” doesnt mean “this is a good thing for me”

in fact, lots of coping mechanisms are downright harmful to ourselves and those around us

some of them can even be physically dangerous or toxic

giving up coping mechanisms that hinder recovery and healing is difficult, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt work towards that

Mental illness is NOT your fault. It doesn’t mean you’re broken. It doesn’t mean you’re worthless.

You are worth so much, and you are a wonderful person. You are dealing with something that is difficult and beyond your control, and you are so incredibly strong because of this.

Life is not my business, life is my breath. When you believe you are a person you feel like life is something you have, so you try to protect and control it like a business. But when you recognize your true Self, it becomes immediately clear that life is not what you do but what you are. Like your breath, it is just flowing spontaneously and you are one with it. You are aware of it and you are just flowing along with it, but you are also beyond it as unmoving awareness.

a good idea: make playlists for every feeling, person and memory that is important to u…like when you’re sad you can listen to a happy-memory playlist n remember that good things exist…when ur lonely there are songs that can give u a hug…when your heart is bubbly over a person, u can feel even more and daydream….when you’re in an empty mood there’ll be songs that will fill you up…you’ll always be ok
