I think what makes the Nether Update so good is that Mojang really had a clear theme for what they wanted to do. They didn’t just add more content to the nether, they specifically wanted the make the nether a habitable space. As in, you can not just survive, but thrive. So, they added equivalents of wood and stone (removing the need to return to the overworld for simple crafting recipes) as well as more sources of food, and everything else you could need in life.

What I really love, though, is that there was a clear focus on making the nether have all the same sorts of ameneties as the overworld, but all slightly wrong. There’s a bed equivalent, but it’s expensive and needs to be refueled. The wood and stone equivalents I mentioned can only be found in specific areas, making those simple recipes a lot more challenging. There are animals that can be bred and farmed, but they’re also hostile to the player. There are sapient locals to trade with just like the villagers you’re used to, but they attack anyone they don’t like the look of and defend their homes with lethal force.

Instead of the nether being a nightmare landscape that only wants you dead, it now really feels like a bizarre alternate dimension— one where everything you know is flipped on its head and a lot more dangerous, but it’s not totally inhospitable.

When girls do the thing where they wear open button ups but tuck them in so that you can see just enough cleavage so that their whole titty isn't out, but you kinda wish it was.

Like this:

Good shit. Top tier shit. High quality shit.

I was just sitting outside, browsing social media, and something tickled my foot. I moved my foot because i figured it was a bug, of whifh we have PLENTY in the back yard. Then a few seconds later SOMETHING WRIGGLED UNDER MY FOOT

I FREAKED out, it startled me so much. While i was busy getting squicked, literally jumping around to shake out the heebyjeebies, by conscious mind IMMEDIATELY recognized what it was.

So here i am, clearly shocked, jumping around, yelling "ITS A SNAKE, ITS A SNAKE!" to my dad, who was so confused about why i was scared, jumping away, and excited in my voice. I grabbed the little thing because it's absolutely not recognizable as a snake, to show him and my sister what i meant

This is him compared to my thumb, ive been digging in dirt so yes its dirty

His smol head and teeny eyes

SCALES

It's a western threadsnake! They prey on smol invertebrates like subterranean termites. I wont be keeping him, i just wanted to show my fam and snap some pics.

Still so excited about this critter

After seeing multiple creators having to publically out themselves or reveal past traumas in order to get fans to stop yelling at them for representing a certain minority/concept in fiction, can yall learn to take a second to consider how your words and actions affect others? Especially in fandom spaces? By demanding that people can only talk about certain issues if they’ve personally been affected by them, you are directly forcing people to reveal their trauma/minority status.

This was prompted by fans’ response to the latest episode of a TMA featuring substance abuse, but also remember a few months ago when Jameela Jamil was cast to play a queer woman in an upcoming movie and there was so much backlash that she had to come out as queer? That fucking sucked.

^^ and the same thing happened with Keiynan Lonsdale from Love, Simon?

on 23 June a magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit Mexico with its epicenter in Oaxaca, where there is a predominant indigenous demographic. the majority of the damage occurred in indigenous pueblos that are still curently recovering from the devastating earthquake that happened 3 years ago. these same indigenous communities are also simultaneously experiencing displacement due to COVID 19 and lack of government aid. these are places that have the most vulnerability and need the most direct action and attention in recovery and aid.

it is NOT by the way NEARLY as detailed as this doc. ive seen this spread around a lot and it should be shared more than the one i shared, which is minneapolis-specific and not made by a black person. while the one i shared has compiled general tips, email templates, and links to helpful articles on how to be an ally, please share this one more, as it has all that as well as more drop off locations and contact info and more info for non-mpls protest help. rb this version
