It isn’t black, so that alone should count as a win for Emma’s outing at a private dinner in celebration of La La Land. The shimmery violet eyes are inspired, but I’m not sure I’m a fan of the feathered belt accessory detail that was presented on the runway. I would have rather seen a fun pair of feathered heels than the odd waist embellishment.

Jimmy Choo ‘Tower Pump in Black’ - $775.00

Much as I love an ankle strap pump (and if you’ve been following me for long, you know that I do), I do think the strap detail here cuts the clean lines of this top and pants combo short. A nude pump to continue the lines of her leg might have been a better option (or even a black pump sans strap).

All that glitters is finally Emma Stone. After a slew of (very chic) but all black outings, Emma finally served up some of the colour and glam that she is so thoroughly capable of showcasing.

I love the streamline tailoring here, but wish the hair had been given a bit more volume and sheen.

Her criss-cross ankle strap heels here are also Givenchy.

Going the menswear route after glittering in gold at the actual ceremony, I actually love the juxtaposition of this oversized boyfriend-cut blazer with the sensual silk slip dress underneath. It creates such a sultry contrast!

Beyoncé has actually performed in this very blazer, but Emma wears a longer version and styled much differently.

Also confirmed by Petra, Emma’s gorgeous jewels for the night (those stunning chain earrings included) were by Tiffany & Co. They offset the gown so beautifully and I think it was a wise choice here to leave the neckline bare given all the stunning detail the dress offers. I also love how her earrings pick up on the same swinging details of her skirt.

As confirmed by her stylist Petra Flannery, Emma Stone stuns in a gold fringe gown by Givenchy. The intricate bodice detailing, and almost ombre effect on the fringed skirt is beyond beautiful - and will probably go beautifully with the golden statue she’s likely to take away from this ceremony.

Nice to see Emma back on form after a long run of black after black on the red carpet.
