Since DeltaRune's release, we've felt a bit out of our depth.
We're doing our best to assess the lore, and learn how to improve Aftertale's coolness and themes.
Since I've been feeling lost, I thought it might help to draw Silas and think about who he is.

Howdy folks. Been a while as always. The game is taking a long time, but we’re confidently chugging away at it little by little.
Today I just thought it would be nice to show off some of the updated portraits, which will also show up in the comic when we finally resume.
Let’s start with a Silas portrait, and you can compare it to one of his old ones.
First, let’s take a look at the old Embarrassed Silas.
In the past, we were approaching Aftertale with full body character portraits, to try to hit a more visual novel type appeal with the feel of our story telling. Recently, we moved into our UI Overhaul phase as we move towards the completion of the Aftertale demo.
Now let’s look at the new Embarrassed Silas portrait.
Boink. We decided to move our UI around a little bit, and face portraits became a better option for us. To make up for that, we wanted to animate them while they talk.
Pretty cute, right? Well, we think so at least.
Now let’s take a look at Gaster Dog. We’ll use his old Annoyed expression.
We always felt like this was a really Gaster Dog expression. His natural sort of “No Fun Allowed” mood. We tried to give him a bit more attitude in his new portrait.
As you can see, he is still very tired of dealing with your sense of humor. But he is just as lovable and soft as ever.
If you liked seeing these, please consider checking out our Gamejolt while we keep working on Aftertale. When all the portraits are done, we’ll probably release a pack of them somewhere so if you’d like, you could use them for telegram or whatever the kids use these days for stickers and whatnot.

This here is an update post, to let you guys know what is going on with the comic, what is going on with the game, and what to expect in the coming future for Aftertale.
First off, “What is Aftertale, I forgot I even follow this blog.”
Aftertale is a mystery Choose Your Own Adventure style webcomic that takes place after the events of Undertale, and as I’m sure you’ve noticed, it has not been updated in a few months.
Sorry about that. Realistically, between commission work and other projects, I still have time that I could spend working on the comic. It’s my fault, I am being lazy about it.
It’s not that there is a lack of story to write, but currently I am more concerned with getting the Aftertale game demo done. The comic pages take me around three days of work to complete, so it leaves me pretty drained.
But the Aftertale comic isn’t over, and it won’t be until it’s uh… well, actually finished. Regardless of how irrelevant Aftertale or Undertale may become, over the next few years, I will be working on the Aftertale comic.
After all, I won’t settle for a timeline where I never get to show off Starboy Neo.
The Aftertale game should be complete by next year. There is a lot on our plate, but this year of college should give us our best shot to finish it up and finally put it out there. We’re doing our best.
After the game demo is released, I’ll be picking up the comic again full steam. Making Aftertale has been a dream come true for me, so I want to keep sharing it with all the people who have supported it and myself.
That’s all. Things might be quiet on this blog for a little bit longer. But if you’d like updates on the Aftertale game, we’re fairly active on Twitter.
Additionally, if you guys would like more active updates posted here, I would be happy to share them. So please let me know if you would like that to be the case.

Aftertale continues to lurch forward, slowly but certainly. After the demo release next year, the comic will resume in full force. Or as full a force as I can manage after working on a game for this long.
It’s a promise not just to my fans but to myself that no matter what, I will finish this story.

We recently asked on Twitter who people would like to see in Aftertale, and while we can’t talk about who is going to show up later in the story, we wanted to make an illustration for the fan favorite.
The people on Twitter seem to like Monster Kid!
But how about you? Who would you want to see in Aftertale?
The game demo is coming by summer next year, provided no incredible setbacks occur. We really hope you’ll stick with us until then.
After which, work resumes on the comic for a while!
