Actually, both the seat AND lid should be down when no one is actively using the toilet, because this prevents things from accidentally falling into / accidentally being dropped into the toilet. Also having the lid down when you're flushing is important because it prevents the toilet from spraying out bacteria.

above was posted on terry miller's instagram (@/disappearing_tm). i wouldn't necessarily compare this to "no kink at pride" discourse, because a BAR has no obligation to be family-friendly. children aren't allowed in bars. instead this makes me think of that REALLY old school type of homophobia - the kind talked about in different from the others (1919), or victim (1961) - where "proof" of a man's gay activities, & therefore violation of the law (whether it be laws against homosexuality, sodomy, or "lewd conduct"), is used to intimidate & blackmail him. there is some VERY shady & scary shit going on here, & i urge you (the community) to keep an eye on it.

It's not a monolith but when a good majority of the songs contain words I'd be sent to HR for repeating it's just not something I have space in my head for. I prefer to sing along and iambic pentameter isn't great for that. I also usually avoid songs that are lyricless or gratuitously repetitive in their lyrics for the same reasoning. Same for death metal/screamo. All props to them and it's great art to enjoy once or twice but not as frequently as I enjoy music on shuffle. Those genres are reserved for specific moods during curated sessions of listening only.

The difference with rap is the same problem I find in country music. A huge amount of it is about glorified violence, cars, wealth and/or women. Thematically boring. There are definitely exceptions to this rule and please share them if you know any!
