Binders look like vests and usually have velcro or bra clips on one side of them.
Make sure to get the correct size! You don’t want toharm your body.
It’s better to be safe than sorry.
For me, I started out by building up to binders. Mainly because I didn’t have one at first to use, but I think it’s important to build up to using binders anyway if you’re planning to wear one everyday or every time you go out somewhere.
I started off using what I already had, I got rid of my bras but I kept the non-wire ones. These ones were stretchy, elastic and were perfect for starting off binding. I basically wore one the right way round and then layered a second one on top the wrong way round, and it helped compress my chest using what I already had at home. You can also use this method using sports bras.
Then I invested in compression shirts and compression shorts (I got these off amazon). I would put the compression shirt over the elasticated fabric bras and then put the compression shorts on so that the waist band would come over the compression shirt to stop it from riding up, and it also helps to give you more of a masculine figure if you have insecurities about your hips.
I then finally got my first binder from MORF through their Binder Scheme. All I had to do was email them that I was interested in seeing their binder catalog since I am a trans* guy and at the time I didn’t own any binders, and they emailed me back with the next month’s binder catalog. I chose a first and second choice for the binders I liked the look of and sent my reply. I then got a response back saying I got my second choice binder, and then I sent the postage cost on paypal. It arrived a few days later in the post, and it felt so good to wear a binder for the first time. My confidence rose a lot from being able to bind properly finally *0*
I also invested in another binder from an asian seller on ebay, since I found these really cool binders you can wear as vest tops in summer. But since they were an asian seller, they had asian sizing, which is a lot smaller than our sizing in the UK. I selected an XL and even then I would say it was a small or medium in our UK sizes. So just keep this in mind if you plan on getting one. It’s important to get a binder the right size for you.

For my binder of this kind, I cut the actual binder out of the top so I could use it with other tops.I really love this binder because it binds really well and makes my chest super flat, which is really great if I don’t fancy wearing a baggy t-shirt and want to wear something tighter. It’s really tight though so you have to be careful not to do anything that might damage your health while wearing it.

Can’t afford a binder?
You can get one from MORF (a charity that helps gender variant and questioning people) - (x)
You can either go to Manchester and pick the binder up from MORF, or pay for just the postage to get it sent to you.
