I’ve failed to keep this Tumblr updated, so now I’m going to attempt to catch up all at once, so I can get on track for the future. I’m proud of all of these episodes, so go listen if you haven’t yet:

Chris Sims (@theisb) makes his long-awaited return to Into It to talk about Archie Comics! The simple rules of Riverdale, the definition of emo, the dangers of punk, the push for diversity (and how far there's still to go). Also why Jughead gets to be hot now, and an explanation for those weird old Christian comics.

At the end of the episode, Chris asks when it will come out and I completely get the answer wrong. Which means the best episode of Movie Fighters ever is already out!

Writer and podcaster Katie Schenkel (@justplainsomething) is here to talk about the animated classic Justice League, including its revamped incarnation as Justice League Unlimited. Flash (specifically Wally West) is the best, Hawkman is the worst, and superheroes, especially Superman and Batman, should be friends. Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman, Amanda Waller, and Catwoman (who's not even in this series) are also the best.

Bri Rudd's back to talk about her favorite X-Man, Jubilee. Fireworks vs plasma vs vampire vs baby, the perils of being an unapologetic teenage girl, the Robin to Wolverine's Batman, and the relative merits of various girl/girl ships. We're both being very careful not get our hopes up about X-Men movies.

@goodnessaidan is on the show to talk about Bring It On, the movie that made her bisexual. Cliff and Missy are basically the same character, this movie avoids the Janis Ian problem, the difference between teen movie dress codes and real high school dress codes, and Gabrielle Union is an immortal deity.

@secretconvergence is here! @postcardsfromspace (@rachelandmiles), @kingimpulse (Journey into Misery), and @superheroeswearingjackets (@warrocketpodcast) are all on the show for a panel discussion about the best and worst of comic book movies.

Note: This was recorded before the Supergirl TV series premiered. So we talk about it, but none of us had seen it. It was also recorded before Jay's public name change.

For Part 3 of SCOIP, tune into SILENCE!

Into It 46: Carrie with Jill Meredith Collins Sinnott

One year ago, Into It began with a discussion of a Steven King adaptation. For the first anniversary my sister and I are discussing three Steven King adaptations, and she also has plenty to say about the book they're all based on. The 1976 Carrie, the 2013 Carrie, and the nearly forgotten 2002 TV version of Carrie. Chloë Grace Moretz is too pretty, Angela Bettis is too old, and Sissy Spacek is technically too pretty and too old but still totally owns the role. Jill has a lot to say about Carrie White, not just as a fan, but as a social worker.

Once upon a time (this past April), a few comics podcasters were joking around on Twitter.

“What if we took a cue from comics and did some kind of ridiculous crossover event?” someone asked.

“I’d do that,” someone else responded.

And then Al Kennedy started an e-mail thread.

Six months later, we are SUPER pleased to announce the first-ever SECRET CONVERGENCE ON INFINITE PODCASTS! SCOIP is a nine-show crossover event, spanning Fan Bros Show; Into It; SILENCE!; Less than Live; Journey into Misery; Wait, What?; House to Astonish, War Rocket Ajax, and Rachel & Miles X-Plain the X-Men. We’re producing nine stand-alone episodes, each hosted by a different show and featuring a mash-up cast from among more than fifteen hosts, and all airing between October 29 and November 29.

This is big, y’all. This is really big. We’re talking plot. The Beyonder. Original art by Brandon Graham (above) and James Stokoe (to be revealed). A guest star (also to be revealed).

To follow along with Secret Convergence on Infinite Podcasts, follow the Convergence on Twitter at @scoipodcasts; on Tumblr atsecretconvergence.tumblr.com, and in the hashtag #SCOIP on both–and look for regular updates from all of the participating podcasts.

Will we die? Emerge with new costumes? LEARN TO POOP?

There’s only one way to find out.

Into It 44: Silent Hill with Miles Stokes

X-Men X-Plainer Miles Stokes takes us on a journey into the world of Silent Hill. The only thing there is what you take with you. And that creepy Appalachian ghost town thing. And the Mist with spiders in it. And Pyramid Head. And that merry-go-round and the sexed-up cenobite.

Into It 43: Hannibal with Timmara Bruce

To kick off our month of seasonally creepy episodes, critic and scholar Timmara Bruce returns to the show to talk about NBC's Hannibal. Hannibal as Dracula, Hannibal as a love story, Bryan Fuller's gift to Elle, and his love letter to Timmara. Don't listen to this episode if you're uncomfortable with the sound of real people giggling about fictional murder.

Into It 42: Pro Wrestling with Danielle Matheson

Danielle Matheson, assistant editor of With Spandex, can't stop talking about her favorite thing in the world, professional wrestling. The topic's so big that this podcast's about to burst. Physical storytelling, the Randy Orton problem, the miracle of Dalton Castle, weird gay daddy stuff, all the emotions about Bayley and Sasha, Chikara is very complicated, and what even is Ryback?

Read Danielle's writing, and especially her account of King of Trios 2012, which you can watch yourself (for a reasonable price) through Chikara's web site.
