The popstar (who is also an on demand songwriter who writes songs for the likes of Beyoncé, Katy Perry and Rihanna) negotiated an unprecedented contract with RCA Records which stated that she wouldn't have to tour or do press, which allows her to maintain certain privacy.

This World AIDS Day, Sia will be working with MAC Cosmetics for their VIVA GLAM campaign and releasing her very own lipstick (which will be available in early January). Every single cent of the price of her lipstick goes towards the M·A·C AIDS Fund which goes directly to people affected by HIV/AIDS. - Team Sia

Sia’s birthday is approaching and as you may know, each year we make a video for her with the help of fans from all over the world. Here’s what we’re going to do this year:

  1. As a sign of appreciation on her special day, I want you to write a short ‘thank you’ note for Sia (e.g.: thank you for your music!, thanks for inspiring me, etc). Please, it’s important for you to keep it SHORT so she can read everyone’s messages.
  2. Write down your note on a piece of paper or card (it can be handwritten or you can do it in your computer/phone). You can add little drawings or colors but the message has to be readable. Long messages and artwork (on its own) WON’T be included on this year’s video. It’s important for to follow this step in order to make this work.
  3. After you’re done with your card, take a picture of you holding it (here you can keep it simple or you can wear a wig, your Sia merch, etc., it’s up to you so get creative!). If you don’t feel comfortable posing for a picture it’s ok, you can send in just a picture of your card.

Submit your photos via the Tumblr blog using the SUBMIT button or via Twitter (@SiaFurlerSource). NO DMs please. The DEADLINE is December 11.
