Staple Design is a household name amongst street culture enthusiasts worldwide. Jeff Ng, a.k.a. Jeff Staple, started Staple in 1997 and has grown the brand into a creative agency, retail store, art gallery, magazine and clothing line. Join Those NB’s as we chop it up with Jeff Staple to break down his new project “Black Pigeon” and New Balance. (All photos by Mr. GIF)

As a street brand veteran, how do you feel about the current state of sneaker culture? I’m really excited about it. I think it’s dope. There was probably a time last year that I was kind of down on it, but now I think it’s back to being exciting and I’m psyched. I’m actually excited for releases, like I have the sneaker bug back.

How do you see New Balance separating themselves from other brands? One word: classic. New Balance is just that classic, non-trendy, non-bandwagon-hopping brand that just maintains this high level of quality, and performance, and style, but without being corny ever. They’re kind of like the quiet one in the room that doesn’t make a lot of audible noise, but always does great stuff. Consistent and classic, for sure…
