Dear Mr. Beddor, My name is Caitlin Hanna and first let me say that I love your work. The Looking Glass Wars has been a favorite of mine since middle school and is part of the reason I want to be an author. For several years I've wanted to write my own Alice, but I'm not very familiar with copyright laws. Is there anything I need to be careful of in regards to Carrol's original story? Or is it so famous that it would be obvious that no infringement would be intended?
I believe that written works are protected by copyright up to 70 years after the death of the author so Alice in Wonderland and all of Lewis Carroll’s works are now public domain and free to do with as you please
Is there any way to have the Looking Glass books become a movie some day? They're one of my favorite series and I'd love to see movies done right!
I’m working very hard to make the movie happen! I appreciate your enthusiasm and can’t tell you how much your support helps so keep the positive vibes coming and continue spreading the word! I hope to make an announcement in the next few months.
