Ziggy had been living with Jareth at his castle for quite some time now. Their relationship was becoming intemate at a steady pace, since the King wasn’t too fond of expressing such emotions. However, Zig was completely fine with it, and was growing more comfortable with speaking his mind and acting the way he usually did.
Sometimes Jareth would send him on a wild goose chase through the rather large labyrinth he was so proud of, just to get rid of the Martian for a while. The two were very different, almost opposites, but their company for each other was much appreciated. At least for Ziggy, he wasn’t exactly sure of how Jareth felt. He could never complete the maze and often times had to be escorted back to the castle by one of the King’s goblin servants.
Today, Ziggy needed a bath. He couldn’t touch water, it would burn and dissolve his skin, so Martians bathed in acid. Mars was the only place he knew of that had enough acid for his bath, and head out to it straight away. Unfortunately, he had to go through the labyrinth to get back to Earth, the only suitable place for his ship. Ziggy started hiking through it, his heart aching from being away from the King, whom he’d grown very attached to. He happened across a human in the maze, which greatly surprised him. She had dark brown locks and a doll face, yet it held a very stern and confused look. The ginger was just as puzzled as to why she was there, Jareth would possibly have some explaining to do.
Jareth had fallen in love with the Martian but his inability to express such an emotion verbally meant that his affections for Ziggy where always shown in other ways, from a gentle caress to making love for hours.
For a few weeks now, The King had grown restless. Though he adored his lover, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to be explored. Something more to experience. And that's when he'd heard Sarah's wish.
Without a second thought, he flew to the earthly world and told the girl what she must do in order to save Toby - the baby boy Jareth's goblins had stolen from her.
While Ziggy was away, Jareth kept both eyes glued to a crystal ball, watching Sarah on her journey through The Labyrinth. He was surprised at her strength and stamina - though she often would punch a wall and wail "It's not fair!", her ability to continue on astounded him.
The King had begun to grow affections for this teenage girl, but that fact did not sway his love for Ziggy, who was home.
