//I can't do much with Xerneas yet..still trying to get back into the flow of her. So for now I'm heading back to Cynthia, but I leave behind a thread tracker thingy

        ❦⇁ The river was dark. Far darker than it should have been. Xerneas paced beside the bank, blue eyes remaining locked on the foggy waters. As the surface rippled she froze, not moving until she saw a Magikarp struggle to the surface, fighting for some clean air. She leaned down, instantly touching her muzzle to the fish's head. As her antlers lit up, it was enveloped in a soft light that helped clear the grunge from its lungs.

       The moment it could breathe it dove back under, Xerneas sighed. She knew it would be back soon- as would many of the others she had helped that day. She had traveled up and down the river constantly all day, seeking the source of the pollution but to no avail.

       If she could purify it herself, she would- but water wasn't a living thing. It carried life within it, but as long as the gunge clung to the surface there was nothing she could do. She knew of a Pokemon who could preform such a feat- a legendary, like herself. But she knew not where they were or how to find them.

       She had sent a few Fletchinder's and Talonflame's off in search of said beast but...there was no way of telling if they would find them in time.

        ❦⇁ Keeping constant supervision over the life of the world meant traveling a lot. And such traveling, at times, could make it quite difficult to maintain relationships. Some managed to persist over the flow of time, though some- unfortunately- seemed doomed to fall to pieces.

                                            Such was the way of life.

       Xerneas did her best, however, to visit those dear to her as frequently as possible. it only proved more difficult though, when someone you wished to visit traveled quite a bit as well. As she came across a small campsite in a distant forest glade though, at least one wish to see someone was quelled. Hooves stepping lightly against the grassy floor, Xerneas approached the burnt out campfire and figure resting beside it.

       She said nothing, barely even making any noise as she folded her legs beneath her and lay beside the figure. Lowering her head, Xerneas pressed her muzzle to the figure's shoulder, giving a small, gentle nudge.

        ❦⇁ While peace and quiet was always relaxing, an overabundance of it was concerning. Xerneas's long, slow strides through the forest left faint rustles here and there, but other than that, the forest was silent. Whether that silence was due to the lazy afternoon or not remained to be seen but either way, the life giver was on alert.

       Making her way to the river that ran through the woodland, Xerneas spotted a few local Pokemon scrambling around her hooves, peering up at her curiously. She gave them a nod of recognition, becoming far more careful with her steps to avoid an accident. Upon reaching the river, the deer bowed her head to quietly drink- only to pause when a sound reached her ears.

       Head lifting, she instantly moved in the direction of the disruption of the day's quiet. It sounded like one of distress and thus, something she could not allow herself to ignore. She stayed along the treeline, looking for what was making the noises.

       ❦⇁ A large field of flowers stretched across the landscape, their petals dancing in the evening breeze, their sweet scents drawing Pokemon from their homes. Flabebe and Floettes danced amongst them, while Vivillon dined on their sweet nectar. A human played amongst them, but the Pokemon found little threat from him. He was only a young one, and he came to relish in the beauties of the flower field often.

       One Flabebe, however, soon noticed that night that something was wrong. The little human was playing in one of the trees that sat amongst the field. Few Pokemon paid attention to him, but all eyes were drawn to that spot as the Flabebe that had noticed him gave a cry of shock.

       The little child had fallen, and was lying still amongst the flowers. The Pokemon crowded around him, confused and unsure what to do. Did they hurry to his nearby home and bring his parents? Or did they try to help him? Before a decision could be made, all fell still.

       They looked to the nearby forest, which was normally dark by this time of night. But a shimmer of light shone from within, growing and growing until a rainbow of pastel colors spilled out across the field. Xerneas stepped out slowly from among the trees, turning limpid blue eyes directly to the scene. The Pokemon slowly made her way to the patch of flowers where the child lay, each step blooming several fresh flowers in their wake.

       The Pokemon moved aside as Xerneas arrived, standing far taller than the tree the boy had fallen from. Bowing her head, the deer's muzzle touched the child's forehead. A small pulse of life reverberated through her, her antlers glowing along with it. With that, the Pokemon relaxed...he wasn't dead.

       They watched as Xerneas lifted her head, the cervine standing there and watching the child silently as she waited for him to wake.
